Maintaining a healthy fraternal relationship is tricky, forcing you to wrestle with subjects like individuality, compromise, and, as illustrated by the FEAR 3 trailer below, whether you should shoot the enemy soldier your ghost-brother is currently possessing. Tough stuff.

"No duh, Joystiq -- it's called the Piano peripheral," you may scoff, but we're talking about the band The Black Keys, not the new Rock Band 3 peripheral. You'll soon be able to jam to their particular brand of blues-rock in Harmonix's Rock Band series, a missive on the band's official site details.

Starting next week, you'll be able to access The Black Keys Pack 01 through your Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, which contains "Strange Times," "I Got Mine" and the band's most recognized track, "Your Touch." Savvy readers will likely best know it as the theme song for the bulletproof tiger himself, Kenny Powers.

Each track will be available as individual downloads on Xbox Live, PSN and Wii for 160 Microsoft Points, $1.99 on PSN and 200 Wii Points, respectively -- or you can download the entire pack for 440 Microsoft Points or $5.49.

Ghost Trick and Phoenix Wright cross over! ... in these sketches by Shu Takumi, creator of both series. Capcom shared a series of Ghost Trick-related drawings made by the producer, featuring Sissel as a shadow and a Christmas tree, as well as various slices of (after-) life from the other characters.

The one here even features a bonus literary reference. The caption above is a quote from a haiku by Matsuo Basho, which translates to something like "I wonder how my neighbor lives?" And now that we've taken a brief detour into seventeenth-century Japanese poetry, you can find a video of Takumi drawing after the break.

#pullquote John Carmack's thoughts today on Doom 3. The programmer says id Software was legitimately "dinged" for making the 2004 game too dark, wishing he'd added more lighting options to the tech, adding "the artists hiss at us if we turn on lights." More »

If you're in the market for a new PS3, and you don't mind waiting just a bit, Sony Style has an appealing offer. Through August 21, Sony's retail site is offering one of six first-party games for free with the purchase of a 120GB PS3 Slim. You can choose from Uncharted 2, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, MAG, Heavy Rain, ModNation Racers or White Knight Chronicles.

Why the wait? The PS3 is currently on backorder at Sony Style, though the offer still seems to be good. So you can order now and actually receive your system later. Think of it as setting your future self up with a wonderful surprise.

[Thanks, Pete!]

If you're mystified by how the Nintendo 3DS could display two images, one for each eyeball, simultaneously, without relying on glasses to divide them up, you're not alone. But you will be alone after everyone else has watched this video by Kombo's Jeff Grubb, which explains not only the 3DS's parallax barrier system, and its effective range, but other stereoscopic 3D displays as well.

You'll also get to see a bit of off-screen 3DS footage, though looking at the 3D effect through a regular camera's view of the system just results in a kind of blurry image. And as a bonus, try to spot our own Ludwig Kietzmann! Surely you recognize the back of his head?
