Classic game show Press Your Luck will have a video game incarnation available starting tomorrow, August 24, on PSN. The game features online and couch co-op for up to three people, along with solo play and over 2,500 trivia questions. The game will likely be $10, but we'll have to wait for confirmation tomorrow.
Sadly, the video game based on the '80s game show does not feature announcer Rod Roddy nor host Peter Tomarken, who died in 2003 and 2006, respectively. However, it does feature the Whammy, whose lifeforce is filled through human suffering and a steady diet of $100 bills. Check out a video of the game after the break.

Razer's Onza control pad for the Xbox 360 sure looked nice when we saw it at CES earlier this year. Problem is, for some people, it's too nice. More »
Target's current weekly ad, the deals of which will be available until this Saturday, includes a heavily discounted price of $150 for the "Wii Legacy" console. Keep in mind, that's the non-Wii MotionPlus, non-Wii Sports Resort SKU -- which is perfect if gyroscopic dongles don't do much for you.
We never did see Hoard in action at E3, but that's okay, because we'll have another chance next week at PAX -- Sony's official blog confirms that the dragon-based dual-stick shooter will be playable on the floor of the convention. Big Sandwich Games will be showing the title off in style, with four-player co-op added to the Treasure, Survival and Princess Rush modes already announced.
There will also be a trailer released right before the event, so we'll keep an eye out for that. Big Sandwich is going to have to make with the information about this one, and fast -- it's scheduled for a PSN release (for both PS3 and PSP) sometime in September. Not that hearing a game is "about dragons" is bad, but we'd like to know a little more than that.

The new Xbox 360 S is not only smaller than its predecessor, it uses less power and should be more reliable. Who can we thank for these benefits? The new "Vejle" processor, that's who. More »
If the "characters made from action figures" thing didn't sufficiently convince you of Gun Loco's locosity, Square Enix is soliciting vocal tracks for the music from ... you. The publisher has posted MP3 music and a lyric sheet for the game's title track, inviting fans to submit their own vocal interpretations.
To download the track, you need to be registered for the Square Enix Members site, but why wouldn't you want to do that anyway? After downloading the file, just record your version as an MP3, AVI or MOV and send it in. The winner will be sent to LA to record their vocals in a studio session and will also receive an Xbox 360, a copy of the game and other prizes.
You get 50 Square Enix Members points and special Avatar stuff just for entering, so there's really no downside, except that you have to say "I am not a lame katana aficionado" out loud.
Because we know you were wondering. Seriously, this odd setup for a Sports Champions demo unit at Gamescom 2010 made us do a definite double take. Is this now the official, Sony-recommended way to play the game?

Describing the sales success of Pokémon titles has become a tricky enterprise, as the franchise has encompassed just about every precious metal in the Periodic Table. We hope you don't find this next statement too confusing: According to data from Media Create, Pokémon Black and White have gone Platin ... er, platinum in Japan, as pre-order sales for the two titles have already reached 1.08 million units.
These pre-orders have only been available since July 31, which The Pokémon Company claims is a new speed record for sales on the DS platform. The Company expects pre-order sales to reach 1.5 million before the game launches September 18. It would be all the more impressive if they could hit 10 million pre-orders, at which point they'd go Diamond. Or, even more ambitiously, they could aim for 20 million in pre-sales, bringing the games up to the rarely achieved SoulSilver status.
2K Sports has announced that, tomorrow, puck enthusiasts on the go will be able to access a version of NHL 2K11 optimized for iOS devices -- the first officially-licensed hockey game to lace up its skates on the iPhone and iPod Touch, actually. Sadly, 2K Sports has not furnished us with any media for the new game, but has revealed that it can be yours for $1.99 during its first week of availability.
The company also promises the scaled-down skate-'em-up will sport "a new control system designed from the ground up; animations and graphics taken from the console version of the game; and fully realized season, shootout and free skate modes of play." You can find it on the App Store starting tomorrow.
Ruffian Games is making good on last month's promise of Crackdown 2 DLC, with the announcement this morning of a forthcoming add-on for the game titled "Toy Box." The free version of the content pack will come with a rethought "Keys to the City" cheat unlock, the "Thruster" ability (described as "jetpacks for your boots") and a new multiplayer mode -- "Vehicle Tag."
For those of you willing to shell out 560 MS Points ($7), the pack also contains five new weapons, two new vehicles, a couple of Avatar items, and 10 new Cheevos. Into dressing up your agent in various colorful suits? Who isn't? The paid version of the pack additionally contains eight fancy new outfits, with ambiguous names like "Terror Firma" (also our second favorite Doctor Who spinoff) and "Dem Apples." The pack is said to be "coming soon," though a solid date hasn't been given for release -- we do have a trailer of the content in action, just after the break.
If our preview doesn't have you pumped to try out the keyboard in Rock Band 3, perhaps the latest trailer will. The video shows off a number of the songs suited to the new peripheral, including Kansas' "Point of Know Return," Foreigner's "Cold as Ice" and more. Our only question: Where's the Rach 3?
Finally, fans left hanging at the conclusion of Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter can get a bit of closure on September 22, as Majesco has confirmed the launch date for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter. If there's anything that these games are known for, it's their rich narrative and character development, so to leave us hanging like that is criminal. All jokes aside, we could all probably use a bit more of "shoot everybody and don't die" in our lives. Keeps you feeling young, you know?
Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter adds three new weapons -- the Sniper Rifle, Flamethrower and Chainsaw -- and co-op support for up to four players across 12 maps, including team-based and competitive modes. No price has been announced for The Second Encounter, though we suspect pricing will be in line with the first game: 1200 MS Points ($15).
He’s one of the most well-known gaming icons in all of our industry. Pac-Man is still around today, and he’s got new games and animated features in the works. None of that would be possible without the success of the original game, which I’m sure we all know and love.

Have you been waiting to harvest the fruits of the many, many hours of labor you put into Medal of Honor's multiplayer beta test? EA recently offered up a reward in the form of a laundry list of changes that will be incorporated into the final version of the game thanks to feedback from beta participants. After all, isn't knowing you helped a company improve its game really the greatest compensation of all? Well, other than money, of course. And free games. And hot dogs. Any -- okay, a lot of things.
Check out the full list of changes (including improved hit detection, balanced unlock trees and a general graphical overhaul) over on PlayStation.Blog.
You’re going to get all the chiptune goodness you can stand at PAX 2010. One of these years I’m going to make it out to the show. Until then, I’ll just have to hear about how awesome it is, and how much I’m missing out on. This Chiptune Showcase is sure to [...]
