Your hands won't be able to play Shank until this week's PSN Tuesday/XBLA Wednesday update goes live, but your ears will be able to listen to the entire game's soundtrack. Big Download has the 13-track OST available for download, without any messy DRM to worry about.

If that's not enough for you, your eyes will be able to watch the game's bloody launch trailer. Be warned, though. If you get queasy from violence, your stomach might also partake in the festivities.

How would you like to own a piece of history? Sure, at any time you could point your browser here and relive the events that transpired on Dead Space Girl day, but it's just not the same as being able to actually put your hands on a copy of Dead Space Extraction, y'know? You could touch your monitor, but who wants fingerprints and smudges all over their display?

Instead, we'd like to inform you of a sale at Amazon, where you can snag a copy of Dead Space Extraction on Wii for just under $18 now -- offered through a separate retailer, though orders are being fulfilled by Amazon, so it's pretty much the same as if you bought it from Amazon directly. And, think about it: next time you run into any of us from The 'Stiq (very possible, considering we're big fans of your favorite pizza joint), you could get it signed by the people who made fun of the cover on the internet.

If that isn't incentive enough to drop a Hamilton, then we're afraid your priorities are all screwed up.

[Thanks, Obadiah H]

A portion of a 1up review… You might die a little too easily at times, but with such a short campaign, and puzzles that are easy to figure out (if sometimes are hard to pull off) AYIM’s is an indie game worth owning on Wii.

Earlier this year, we introduced the PlayStation Protection Plan, an extended service plan for the PlayStation 3 and PSP system. This service was introduced to give gamers peace of mind by providing an additional one or two years of coverage on top of their one year limited manufacturer’s warranty. Some of the plan benefits include free shipping, no hidden fees or deductibles and utilization of OEM parts and service technicians…PS3 plans are now available for download directly from the PlayStation Store. However, in continuing our goal to provide PlayStation Plus subscribers with exclusive offerings and even more value to their entertainment experience on the PlayStation Network, we are now offering the PlayStation Protection Plan to subscribers for a discounted price.

PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to purchase a two year PS3 plan for 25% off (PlayStation Plus price $44.99, original price $59.99) Considering the PS3 one year plan is $44.99, PLUS members get two years for the price of one! In order to qualify for any of the plans, your PlayStation 3 must still be within its one-year original manufacturer’s warranty.

We are happy to continue to offer new features to the PlayStation Plus subscribers. With a little less than three months in the books, PlayStation Plus continues to evolve giving gamers an excellent set of content and features for their PlayStation 3.

Additional information on the PlayStation Protection Plan can be found here.

And just like that, SCEA has begun sending out invites for a Dead Nation beta. We're not entirely sure what online functionality the beta is testing, especially considering the rather lax requirements for the program -- "All you need to do is make sure you are signed in to the PSN while trying to kill as many dirt-ridden flesh sacks as possible!"

The beta is currently ongoing, and will end on September 3, giving invitees over a week of playtime. The invites appear to have been sent randomly, so check your e-mail (and your spam filters) to see if Sony has invited you into this unexpected preview event.

[Thanks, Cristian R.!]

[Image: Penny Arcade] GameStop's new, larger Silicon Valley store is being dubbed the retail giant's "store of the future." VentureBeat reports the new stores will meld the worlds of retail and online shopping, by offering "points" to customers who purchase DLC (like the Modern Warfare 2 map pack) from a kiosk in the store. It's all part of the loyalty card program that the company is slowly rolling out across the country.

The retailer's recent purchase of online portal Kongregate is also expected to deliver 10 million unique visitors a month to GameStop's site. The company, which recently missed its earnings target, also plans to invest $100 million a year in expanding its online business.

To use GameStop's online kiosk, customers show their "PowerUp Rewards Pro card" to a scanner and it'll display their purchase history. They can then add games to their wishlist by scanning games off the shelves. To purchase downloadable content for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, users find a specific game in the system, pick the DLC they want, swipe their credit card and out pops a code to redeem at home.

Why would customers take the extra step when the product costs the same at home? Well, because in the store they'll earn rewards and achievements for purchases. It's certainly one way to keep GameStop brick-and-mortar relevant in the upcoming digital distribution age.
