#playstation4 The PlayStation 3 was released in 2006. Sony has famously said the console will have a ten year console life. By that math, we can expect the PlayStation 4 sometime after 2016. But can we expect a digital-download-only console? More »

Okay, so it was pretty odd when Guilty Gear 2: Overture turned out not to be a 2D fighter, but a 3D action game with strategy elements. That was nothing compared to Furo Jump!!: Guilty Gear Gaiden!? for DSiWare.

Furo Jump (literally Bath Jump) stars Chimaki, a hidden character from Guilty Gear 2, in a quest to visit a hot spring for relief from back pain. To get to his dream bath, Chimaki must spin on a bar of soap and whip a towel at pink elephants. Sounds totally like Guilty Gear to us, right?

Furo Jump will make its splash on Japanese DSiWare September 1 for 500 DSi Points. Head past the break for the trailer with the world's most annoying narration. You can also play a Furo Jump Flash minigame here.

Sure, your kicks are probably all right -- they might have those spring things on them, and maybe the velcro is really solid. But do they have freakin' Akuma painted on the side? Didn't think so. That's what makes these customized sneakers from Diversitile so awesome -- they feature a continuous art design with everyone's favorite Street Fighter character (suck it, Blanka) wrapped around a pair of Nike Dunks, and even the laces are styled after Akuma's beaded belt.

The shoes were created for the Clash of the Customizers design battle and auction going on right now, so odds are that you probably can't afford them anyway. Guess you'll have to make do with the skates you got, dawg -- better get a little duct tape on that hole in the heel.

EA's tutorial video for the FIFA 11 "Be A Goalkeeper" details all the mechanics involved in standing in front of a soccer ball. Sure, it sounds easy, but given the amount of guidance the game provides, you'd think it's something you'd need to be a professional athlete to do.

And lo, from the throne of four and twenty seats, with four and twenty elders sitting and clothed in white rainments and crowns of gold, lightnings and thunderings and voices proceeded. Seven lamps of fire burned, and four beings full of eyes appeared in front and behind. And the first being was like a frog, and the second being like a nymph, and the third being had the face of a man, and the fourth being was like a yawning penguin.

And from the mouth of the third being, like a cat, came these words: "Hello Kitty Online has officially launched in North America and Europe. Fans both young and old can share their love of Hello Kitty, either through the free downloadable client or the Premium Edition retail version, which is available at retailers for $19.99 and contains $15 in Sanrio Cash Points, a game DVD and manual, and one of four exclusive and cute virtual pets."

And I looked, and beheld the pale cat, and the name that sat on her was Hello Kitty. And Hell followed with them.

Budding warmongers across Europe will likely want to set aside some HDD space for a R.U.S.E. demo, set to assault PSN there on September 1. However, if you're one of the cool kids with expendable income who signed up for PlayStation Plus, you can actually access the demo right now -- provided you live in the EU.

R.U.S.E. pulls a fast one on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 7 in North America and September 10 in Europe.

Igniq.com has posted an interesting look at the vast cost difference between purchasing a pre-built, high end gaming PC or building one yourself. Of course, even those who don't tinker inside their own PCs knows that a home-built rig is usually cheaper than a retail counterpart, but it might surprise you to learn just how much cheaper.

Igniq's Gary McKeon priced the various components he would need to build a top-of-the-line gaming rig. With a quad core 3.07GHz processor, beefy graphics card and loads of RAM, his PC clocks in at just under $2,400. Not cheap, to be sure, but an Alienware PC with similar specs would cost nearly twice as much at over $4,600.

The lesson here: If you need the best gaming PC around, you can save a lot of money by building it yourself (or finding someone to do it for you). Unless you just need a little alien head on your PC case, of course.

Siliconera spotted a GameStop listing for a brand new Ape Escape title coming to the PS3 on November 1 of this year. While Sony actually has two Ape Escape (known in Japan as Saru Getchu) titles on tap, Ape Escape 4 is farther away from release than Ape Escape Fury! Fury!, so this listing probably refers to the latter.

Fury! Fury!
is a Move-enabled title that has the player trying to catch monkeys from a first person perspective, while controlling all of the series' gadgets using the Move controller. The series has been sliding a bit lately with spin-off sequels, but maybe this game will be able to innovate with the Move controller the same way it did with the dual analog sticks back in the day.

While there are some that would write off Xbox Live Indie Games as just the domain of hobbyists, a handful of games have proven that the service can be lucrative for developers. Ska Studios' I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!1 is easily one of the most well-known examples, routinely topping the Indie Games sales list each week. Now, the company has announced that Z0MB1ES has sold in excess of 308,000 copies and is expanding into some new territory.

First, the game's incredibly super-catchy theme song is now available on Rock Band Network. And yes, it's just a dollar. Furthermore, Z0MB1ES apparel will be sold in Hot Topic stores starting next month. Presumably for more than a dollar.
