Hey, that PS3 update that was supposed to add support for 3D Blu-ray movies this month? Unfortunately, you'll have to languish with that copy of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for a bit longer, because Sony announced at IFA today that the update has been pushed to October. We know, it's just not the same unless those meatballs are flying right at your face, but it won't be too much longer.
And hey, you can still try out some of them newfangled 3D games. It might not meet your meatballs-in-the-face expectations, but it's got to count for something, right?

RedLynx, creator of the stunt racing game Trials HD, is returning to the "physics-based side-scrolling stunt racer" well for its next project, but something tells us people won't mind. MotoHeroz for WiiWare expands the gameplay into a kind of adventure, in a "rich, challenging world."
Players will be able to race in a single-player story mode, and compete in multiplayer races in a four-player "party mode." In addition, MotoHeroz will feature unique daily races, with a new online track each day. You can get a look at MotoHeroz in the October issue of Nintendo Power. RedLynx expects to "complete development at the end of this year or in early 2011."

A Sega-registered website is teasing an unveiling related to strategy RPG series Valkyria Chronicles
-- possibly of a new sequel.
Andriasang stumbled upon Code1935.jp, which features several Valkyria-esque soldiers' silhouettes, a tank and a missive that the "top secret" site is not to be opened until September 16. The date coincides with this year's Tokyo Game Show.
What we can surmise from the site is that we are looking at a new Valkyria Chronicles, likely with a different squad -- perhaps not even Gallian. If "1935" in the website's name represents the setting, then it might take place during the events of Valkyria Chronicles 1. However, the large sword in the middle is unfamiliar, and "Altaha Abilia 422" doesn't ring any bells -- according to Wikipedia the slogan means "Always Ready."
We'll be at the ready to share more, like if the series will continue on PSP or in some other unexpected form, when we gain more intel.

Friends lists, matchmaking, and a unified multiplayer gaming experience come to the iPhone in next week with the release of Apple's Game Center in iOS 4.1. More »
During the ongoing Apple event, Steve Jobs revealed a new version of the iPod Touch that's on par with the iPhone 4. Sporting all of the features you see in the image above, the thing has all the gaming of the phone, without the AT&T contract. iOS 4.1 with Game Center is a big deal, and Apple's crammed an A4 chip in there and a 3-axis gyroscope, just like the new phone. It even has a front-facing camera.
The new iPod Touch will be available next week in an 8GB model for $229, a 32 GB model for $299 and a 64GB model for $399. You can pre-order it now.
