It’s just a tad melodramatic, don’t you think? Would this ad convince you to look more into Metroid: Other M if you didn’t plan on purchasing already?

You better get out there and grab this deal while you can. The Prime series all packed on one disc, and you’re going to pay just $20 AUS. You can’t pass that up!

Filed under: Podcasts We're in that weird space between PAX and TGS, and we've marked the lull with a heavy dose of gaming, everything from Dragon Age to Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Unfortunately, we don't talk about any of those on this episode. ... No, we do, we do. Just trying to mix it up.

Also, thanks to us for authorizing Alan Black to use his photoshopping powers on this image.

A portion of a PureNintendo review… If I ever expect to know what a Taz game would be like on the DS, I would probably come up with Galatic Taz Ball. It may not be the most in-depth, story driven game out there but it does the Taz name justice.

PC gamers may have noticed their collective Spidey senses tingling earlier this week, as Activision quietly announced that the PC version of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions would not be releasing alongside its console counterparts. According to the launch press release, the PC version will arrive "soon." Speaking to Big Download, an Activision rep revealed that "soon" apparently means later this year. Stay strong, true believers, ol' Webhead will swing in eventually.

A portion of an NWR review… At this point, the Professor Layton games are a known commodity, but that commodity is a finely crafted one. If you enjoyed the first two games, then the third game will be welcome even if it is more of the same.

Online Beta Update

For those of you paying attention, you’ve probably heard that LittleBigPlanet 2 beta codes are being distributed. Here’s the skinny: Yes, beta codes are going out. But globally, we’re taking steps to best test our server environment, so we’re distributing beta codes in phases. The first phase of testing started earlier this week with our European LBP community. In a few weeks, we’ll be growing the participant base with US and other countries. More news to come…

Start Featurettes

With so many new features in LittleBigPlanet 2, its impossible to discuss all the new things in one sitting. So we’re introducing a series of LittleBigPlanet 2 Featurettes that highlight some of the many new things you can do in LBP2, such as the new Grappling Hook and the revamped SHARE experience. Stay tuned to the PlayStation.Blog for continuing episodes of LBP2’s Featurettes.

PAX Ends

The dust is still settling from this past weekend’s PAX 2010, and we had a blast seeing all our fans. From watching all the four-player fun, community corner activity (stay tuned next week when we start our “Bloggie” reports), the feverish lines for free Sackboy T-shirts, and the extremely sought after Sackboy plushies. Thanks to all our fans in making PAX 2010 our most memorable yet! And thanks to comphermc, confusedcartman, jaeyden, and morgana25 for hosting our Community Corner.

Here’s a quick glimpse of the fun we had over the weekend:

We recently “officially” obtained the @LittleBigPlanet Twitter account, and our community managers at Media Molecule have been great at keeping our fans up-to-date on all things LBP. Follow us! (I have a wager that we can get over 100k followers by the end of the month, so please tell your friends and help me win!!!)

Gunpei Yokoi may no longer be around to celebrate his own birthday, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t. Yokoi’s contributions at Nintendo were quite amazing, and their impact is still being felt today. Let’s take a moment to remember the man that made the gaming of today possible.
