Jealous that you weren't one of the lucky few who got a golden ticket to join in the LittleBigPlanet 2 beta test? There's probably a pretty good reason for that: You don't live in Europe. A recent update on PlayStation.Blog clarified that the beta invites sent out earlier this week only went to active members of the European LBP community, and that similarly Sackboy-obsessed gamers living in the US and other countries will be added to the testing group "in a few weeks."

A few weeks? So we can either wait like, 21 days, or buy a plane ticket to London and forge some important citizenship documents? That sounds like an awful lot of work. On the other hand -- grappling hooks.

Once again, Walmart has added a product listing for a heretofore unannounced (but heavily rumored) PS3 title: A bundle including (presumably visually updated versions of) ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. The mega-retailer included an April 1, 2011 release date for the game -- hopefully not an indication of an outrageously early April Fools' Day joke -- and a bargain-level price tag of $39.82.

We've contacted representatives at Sony and Walmart (again) to try to get a comment on the listing, and will let you know when we hear more.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

A portion of a Nintendo Life review… A few technical missteps and eventual sense of the game retreading itself keep it from standing as a must-have, but anyone with a passing interest in these spin-off universes, or just Spidey himself, would do well to check it out. After all, those neighbourhoods won’t friendly themselves.

We've really got to give it to EA for these Medal of Honor Experience videos -- there's no quick cuts or flashy editing, just pure, unadulterated gameplay. It's as close as you can get without actually holding the controller in your hand. In this latest edition, titled "High Value Target," you get a look at the game's Combat Mission multiplayer mode, which has the two teams either attacking or defending a series of objectives. In this case, it appears that the player's side is trying to escort tanks through a destroyed airfield, making for some pretty impressive visual spectacle.

Of course, this video is missing one thing we experienced a lot in the multiplayer beta a while back -- all that time we spent waiting to respawn while dead. Sure, you could end up being as good as this guy, and sure, watching the action is more fun than watching a countdown timer. But next time, EA, maybe throw in at least one respawn and show the complete game. Whaddaya say?

Chiaki Kuriyama may be most well known for her terrifying roles in Kill Bill and Battle Royale, but she'll soon become more familiar to gamers as "Misuzu Asaki," the heroine in the upcoming Yakuza title Ryu ga Gotoku: Of the End. Sega revealed her role to IGN and handed over a couple of images for comparison -- one of Kuriyama in the recording booth, another as her in-game character (oddly, this is the first actual image of the game that we've seen).

Other Of the End screens depict additional characters -- Tetsuo Nikaido, Tomoaki Nagaham, DD, Oya-san and Daigo Dojima -- though no images have been released with any of the game's playable characters just yet. As we noted when the game's title was revealed yesterday, we expect to learn much more at next week's Tokyo Game Show.

It's been a while since we've heard anything from the team behind The Haunted: Hell's Reach, which won the Make Something Unreal contest earlier this year, earning the team a commercial license for the Unreal Engine. Now, the team has released a new trailer and a batch of screenshots, showcasing the game's demon-slaying action, multiple weapons and various multiplayer modes. Director Michael Hegemann tells Joystiq that the team is currently "negotiating with publishers" and hopes to see the game released on XBLA, PSN and PC next year.

Here's hoping the team finds a publisher sooner rather than later. Those demons won't slay themselves, will they?

Notorious modder Ben Heckendorn (aka "Ben Heck") is taking on a new challenge -- turn a show about modding into entertainment. The press release detailing his new show says it'll be starting on September 13 and we're told it'll be hosted on both element14 (its sponsor) as well as internet TV channel Revision3.

The show's premiere episode will see Heck mod a game controller "for an avid gamer with a serious disability," with subsequent shows to be released every other week. And though we're not sure if he'd be interested, if Heck could figure out a solution to our colorblind issues with certain games, he'll hold a spot in our hearts forever. Head below the fold to see the show's first trailer.

Following in the footsteps of its fantasy MMO predecessor Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, developer Turbine Entertainment has flipped the free-to-play switch for its Tolkien-based RPG, Lord of the Rings Online. Potential players can download the client from the game's official site and get started at zero cost. Of course, a number of bonuses such as "quest packs" can be purchased piecemeal from the Turbine Store -- or, you can sign up for a paid VIP membership and have access to all of the game's premium offerings.

Turbine will be promoting the game's new business model during this Sunday's episode of Family Guy using the trailer posted after the jump. We warn you: It may seem clever at first, but the vision of hairy ladyfeet might stick with you for longer than you'd like.
