Ever since Capcom's Monster Hunter Portable lit up the Japanese sales charts, there's been no shortage of clones hitting the PSP. This year's TGS show floor featured follow-ups to many of them, including Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, God Eater Burst and Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity. Square Enix is throwing its hat into the crowded monster-hunting genre with Lord of Arcana ... and doesn't appear to succeed.

If you've played a dungeon crawler on PSP before, Lord of Arcana will feel immediately familiar. An on-screen mini-map will direct you throughout the dungeon, until it ends with a climatic battle against a giant boss monster. Along the way, there are battles with smaller creatures, and straying from the beaten path will reveal loot-filled treasure chests.

In a second act of charity springing from the eerily lifelike financial depths of EVE Online, players are being offered a chance to donate to victims of flooding in Pakistan using 30-day subscription codes (or "PLEX") as currency. The game's proprietor, CPP Games, will convert the month's worth of playtime into actual, real-life dollars -- worth between $11-$15 each, depending on the subscription plan -- which will then be given to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society. Players are allowed to donate as many times as they'd like.

CCP raised over $40,000 for Haiti during its last PLEX donation drive, though we're sure the game's economically studious players can do even better this time around. Right?! That said, we should probably note that CCP sees "any scamming attempts surrounding this effort to be morally reprehensible" and warns that "they will be met with swiftest action." For specific details on the donation process, the CCP dev blog and FAQ page have more.

Sony's going to be tinkering with the PlayStation Network today, so rather than delay the weekly PlayStation Store update to Wednesday, it decided to move it up by a few hours -- neat, huh? That means you get access to the likes of the Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and NBA Elite 11 demos (and an early chance to download Swords & Soldiers if you're a PS+ subscriber) right now.
It's also the grand opening of the new PSOne Imports section of the PS Store. As expected, two MonkeyPaw Games releases -- Cho Aniki and Gaia Seed -- lead what will hopefully be a strong and steady charge of games from Japan. Use the handy-dandy buttons below to just straight to what's new for the platform of your choice, or hit the break for the full update. It's up to you!
