We were sure Square Enix would localize the sequel to Dissidia Final Fantasy, its PSP fighting-RPG hybrid thing. But we also vainly hoped the company would alter the title for the American version to something that makes even the slightest bit of sense. No such luck.

Square Enix announced that DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY will arrive on PSP in North America sometime next year, bringing new characters (Kain, Tifa, and Lightning, so far), a playable Chaos storyline, and a new, RPG-style mode along with it. We now hope it'll be available on PSN so we don't have to look another human being in the face when we buy something called DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY. Why would you do this to your own game, Square Enix? If you don't want anyone to buy it, just don't release it.

Some of the fine folks who brought you 8-bit versions of Twilight and Dr. Horrible now deliver their most terrifying concept yet: 8-bit Glee. Just in time for tonight's second season premiere, the 8-bit "choose your own adventure" (utilizing the power of YouTube annotations) covers events of the musical (karaoke?) television series' first season.

Although losing before the finale may not be canon to the series, the "game" features Sue and Schuester's verbal sparring, (non-participatory) rhythm game cliches and all that sugary, inspirational stuff that got the show picked up for two more seasons.

High-definition updates of last generation's Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia games have popped up again, this time on a UK retail site. Eurogamer points to listings on Zavvi.com of the two Ubisoft trilogies, bundled on PlayStation 3 for £30 MSRP. Splinter Cell has a late November date attached, while PoP is listed for March 2011. Last month, the two HD collections emerged on Amazon France, both with an early November release date.

The PS3 already has the God of War Collection out there, with Sly Cooper and ICO / Shadow of the Colossus bundles on the way. We've contacted Ubisoft for official word on the Splinter Cell and PoP bundle matter, but should that fail we have an asset on standby to extract the information ... through any means necessary.

The Xbox 360 Dashboard might not want you to know it just yet, but hidden among the 'Game Videos' section of the game marketplace is a just-released 10-minute gameplay demo for BioShock Infinite. The guided demo will go live everywhere else tomorrow, but if you've got an Xbox 360, we'd suggest queuing up the clip for download right now. It'll probably be the best ten minutes (involving telekinesis) you'll experience today!

Much like their Xbox-playing counterparts, folks hoping to do some remote Tomb Raiding with an online pal on PS3 and PC will have to cool their jets for a bit. According to a press release from Crystal Dynamics, the PS3 and PC versions of the Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light are still slated to arrive on September 28 -- however, contrary to what was previously promised, the new versions will not have online co-op capabilities until "a later date." A Crystal Dynamics representative explained the 360 online co-op update will go live "in the very near future." We've followed up to find out if it will arrive alongside the new versions, as was announced last month.

We've also contacted Crystal Dynamics to get a better idea of what "a later date" entails for the PS3 and PC versions. For the developer's sake, we sure hope it means "before we plan to launch all those DLC expansions later this year."
