In sports, they say it's not how you lose but when you lose. In that case, NBA Elite picked a great time, because its indefinite delay was blotted out by two doozies at week's end. More »
Recently, fans began noticing that the PS3 Rock Band 3 keyboard bundle had disappeared from US retailer listings. The $130 bundle is still available for pre-order on Xbox and WIi, and both the keyboard and game are available separately on PS3. Just ... no bundle. And that means that Rock Band 3 and the keyboard, together, are effectively ten dollars more expensive on PS3.
Harmonix addressed this baffling omission today, announcing that due to "the agreement terms for the region," the PS3 keyboard bundle will not be available in the US, though the game and keyboard will be available separately. "This does not affect European customers as the Rock Band 3 keyboard/software PS3 bundles will still be available in Europe," the announcement states. We've contacted the developer to find out what exactly this agreement entails. If Harmonix sings, we'll let you know.

Hey, remember Fez, the little mind- and dimension-twisting indie platformer that was due out in 2009 2010 sometime in the future? Apparently that's still true -- developer Phil Fish has shared a brand new gameplay video on Twitter today, and you can watch it right after the break. The lead character's name is Gomez, according to the video's description, and the game will take him "a voyage of discovery into the mysterious 3rd dimension." Sounds fun, but when's it out?
Fish doesn't say that, but he does confirm that the game "does indeed appear not to be an elaborate prank." Cute. Normally we wouldn't allow ourselves to be strung along like this on so little information, but this video has changed our perspective just enough for us to stay patient for this one a little longer. Weird how that works.

Capcom Japan has dated the fall line of Super Street Fighter IV apparel. In fact, it's more like the fall, winter and spring line, as the company will trickle out the DLC packs (it's been teasing) in seven 5-costume releases; beginning in late October and culminating in a discounted complete set, featuring all 35 new outfits, on April 26, 2011.
Complete details are posted after the break. (The costume packs have only been dated and priced for Japan, but the information is expected to apply to North America as well.) Oh! What about ... ?

October. It's here. That means we're officially now in Q4 and there's a lot of games coming. There's Call of Duty: Black Ops, Fable 3, Fallout: New Vegas ... also, Enslaved, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Medal of Honor and many, many more. And here we're just talking "new" games, that's not even taking into the account things like the Dragon Age: Origins and Borderlands GOTY bundles. Trust us, whatever games you're thinking about this season, there's a couple more hidden gems you've totally forgotten about.

When he's not flying to Valve to speak about his world-building game, Minecraft, one-man development team Marcus Persson has been spending his days lately scouting for a new office and a couple more employees. Profits from his yet-to-be-finished crafting game have already netted enough to start a development studio and hire a handful of employees. On the latest Indie Games Podcast, Persson said he's looking for "about six" employees in total, and he's got four so far.
He's also already got plans for a second game -- a title to be developed alongside Minecraft that he repeatedly points out is "going to be fairly different" from his first solo outing. Unlike Minecraft, however, Persson won't be heading up development of the second game, but one of the other folks he's working with. As for when Minecraft will be completed? He "doesn't dare" guess. Hopefully five other people will help speed up the process!

Twitter user Prov_Sez tipped us off to a Dashboard deal offering 24 months of Xbox Live Gold for $84, complete with a 1600 MS Point kickback. However, our own sleuthing around on yielded an additional deal: one year of Xbox Live Gold for $45, with an additional 800 MS Points as incentive -- not too shabby!
Oh, and before you think you'll spend those Points during the Game Feast promotion, stop and check the fine print. It'll take six-to-eight weeks before you'll see 'em on your account.
