After being curiously absent from the on-disc soundtrack, Jay-Z, one-half of the original DJ Hero promotional duo, returns for a guest verse in the first DJ Hero 2 DLC pack. Available November 2, the Hit Makers Mix Pack bundles three mixes for $8, including a Rihanna's "Umbrella" / Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" mashup. Two weeks later, the Electro Hits Mix Pack will be released, packing decidedly more oomph-oomph. Complete details of both packs are posted after the break.

Additionally, a free compatibility update will be released in November to enable support for existing DJ Hero DLC in DJ Hero 2. Activision has not specified if this update will reformat the original DLC to feature new gameplay elements. (The gameplay differential between the first and second games could be a contributing factor in the apparent lack of a soundtrack importing option from DJ Hero 1 to 2 -- that and the race just to complete the DJ Hero 2 content in seven months, not to mention possible music licensing limitations.)

DJ Hero 2 will be released next Tuesday, October 19 for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

Kenichi Nishi, founder of Chibi-Robo developer Skip, as well as LOL developer Route24, is gauging interest in a sequel to his 1997 PlayStation RPG Moon: A Remix RPG Adventure via Twitter. If you're not familiar with Moon, it's an inventive RPG about a child sucked into the world of a (fictional) RPG, also called Moon. After playing through the game in his real life, he must then follow in the path of an insane, level-hungry "Hero" in the game's world, and help bring peace to the souls of the monsters murdered for XP. Read this NeoGAF thread and this HG101 article for more detail.

Showing your support for the sequel (and, likely, helping Nishi find a publishing partner to fund its development) couldn't be easier: simply include the #moon2 hashtag in your tweets. In the event that Moon 2 does get made, Nishi has already said he "hopes" to bring it to the west as well.

With Rock Band 3's new keyboard peripheral, it seemed like a sure bet that we'd see downloadable songs from The Doors sooner or later. Harmonix has opted for "sooner," announcing the release of twelve Doors tunes on Rock Band 3's October 26 release date.

Three of the songs, "Light My Fire," "Riders on the Storm," and "Touch Me," will not only feature downloadable Pro Guitar and Pro Bass functionality, but will also be free until November 1. The rest of the songs, which have yet to be officially priced, will be designed for traditional Rock Band guitars (and Pro drums and keyboards), and will be released as a nine-pack on October 26. After November 1, all the songs will be available as a twelve-pack. All this is part of a promotion for the November 22 release of the new Doors "Live in Vancouver 1970" CD set.

Break on through to the other side of this post (we're so sorry) to see the list of tracks. Spoiler: yes, "L.A. Woman" is in there, for those of you desperate to have an excuse to chant "Mr. Mojo risin'" in your living room.

We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.

We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.

We’ll have more information for you in the near future.

According to a (since removed) image found on Amazon and now posted on Examiner, the collector's edition of Dead Space 2 will include a life-size toy Plasma Cutter, in addition to a soundtrack CD, a DLC voucher, and a piece of artwork. EA announced its intention to produce a collector's edition for the sequel way back in January, when it sought ideas for pack-in items from fans. The plasma cutter happened to be on the list even then -- and we called it "outrageous."

Being a sort-of leaked item, EA hasn't officially announced its existence, and thus no information about its price is known.

Bros, oil up them chests and get ready to bump 'em because THQ has announced a new DLC delivery program for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 called "Fan Axxess." Yeah, bro -- it's totally called "Fan Axxess."

Spend 800 MS Points ($9.99) on Xbox 360 or PS3 and you'll be placed in the Fan Axxess program, a system that "will enable WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 owners to obtain select downloadable content released throughout the life of the videogame." This "select content" will include "a number of playable WWE Legends, WWE Superstars and WWE Divas, alternate ring gear, playable arenas, a WWE Superstar Attribute Customizer, instant access to all unlockable content and an in-game badge," identifying you as Fan Axxess member.

If you're not interested in purchasing a label or its accompanied liberal use of the letter X, you can purchase each DLC pack individually. THQ has lined up the first few, so head past the break for the details.

Hi all! Back at E3, we had announced that we will be releasing an all-in-one Surround Sound System for the PS3 system with built-in subwoofer. A device made for the ultimate gamer, the Surround Sound System will be available as soon as next week in the U.S. and Canada. It’s perfect for use with games and Blu-ray movies and more importantly, is easy to use. You’ll be able to enjoy immersive audio by simply placing the Surround Sound System in front of the television and connecting it to the PS3 system with the optical digital cable. The sleek design of the Sound Bar compliments the design of your PS3.

So, why pick up the Surround Sound System? The Surround Sound System utilizes cutting-edge technologies, including Sony’s S-Force PRO Front Surround Sound that creates the equivalent of a home theater system bringing to life in-game sounds not normally audible with conventional acoustic systems. Bringing in SCE’s expertise in both entertainment and technology acquired from developing games, four sound fields and two sound modes have been designed with the help of our expert game sound designers. Check out this video that has excerpts from our conversations with the game sound design team:

EA Sports has chosen tennis superstar Venus Williams as brand ambassador for its upcoming title EA Sports Active 2, the motion sensor- and heart rate monitor-equipped fitness title coming out on November 16. Williams will join her EU and AU counterpart David Beckham in navigating the risky straits of fitness game diplomacy, including dealing with the various intertitular carb and calorie accounting laws, drafting the Target Heart Rate Zone treaty, and rebuilding relations with Wii Sports after the devastating Mii riots of late 2009.

Oh no, wait -- the press release says she will instead join Beckham and represent the brand to "show others that you can be active and reach your fitness goals while having fun at the same time." Our mistake.
