Lovefilm - which is essentially European Netflix, for those of you who don't recognize the name - will have its streaming movie service available on PS3s in the UK this November. The app appears to be pretty robust, allowing users to not only stream movies, but also manage their general queue and search by films or actors.

A video explaing the app and its features -- likely the same one leaked yesterday -- can be found after the break.

Are you interested in trying out the Xbox Live functionality of Microsoft's upcoming Windows Phone 7 platform? Afraid that, as a Mac owner, you won't be able to actually use the devices? Microsoft sent us a polite email, letting us know that "later in 2010 Microsoft will make a public beta available of a tool that allows Windows Phone 7 to sync select content with Mac computers."

Further details weren't offered about the tool, but its mere existence is a huge step up from Microsoft's previous handheld offering, the Zune. The Zune client was exclusive to Windows, meaning Mac owners were denied access to Project Gotham Racing on the go.

The so-called "first step" in a PlayStation-specific audio system will be released next week for $180, and you're looking at it. The "Surround Sound System," like most sound bars, mimics true surround sound though 2.1 audio channels (this one has an integrated sub). While the PlayStation-brand sound bar is compatible with other audio sources, its been designed to match the "PS3 system aesthetics" and features two gaming-specific modes, "Dialog" and "Night" (which enhances key sounds when the volume is turned down).

"The sound bar is the first step for us to develop an audio system that's specific to the PlayStation," Sony's David Murrant says somewhat curiously in a marketing spot for the system (embedded after the break). Of the Dialog sound mode, Murrant adds, "Often dialog is going to be key to knowing what the next stage for the game is or giving you clues."

Though Fable 3 creative lead Peter Molyneux has kept mum every time we've asked him what Kinect functionality was to be implemented in his studio's forthcoming game, a Fable rep casually let slip to Kotaku that the game at one point included statue making and tomato throwing. Wait, huh? Unfortunately, the representative realized the err of their ways and wouldn't say anything else about the cut minigames.

Molyneux explained to us back in August that the Kinect functionality had been cut from Fable 3's launch due to the need for more time to fully develop the experience. "Is this what people would expect Kinect to be in something like Fable?," Molyneux rhetorically wondered at the time, clarifying that "the answer, quite frankly, was 'no.'" Though Microsoft and Lionhead have yet to confirm as much officially, Molyneux also teased the possible inclusion of Kinect features in the future of the Fable series, saying, "I think the future for Kinect and Fable is probably bright." We expect, for example, that the technology harvested from Milo's virtual corpse is likely coming to the Fable franchise in the future. It appears, however, that the future won't be bright red.
