If you instantly watch movies and TV shows from Netflix on your PS3, here is the news you’ve been waiting for: starting Monday, October 18 you’ll be able to instantly watch movies and TV shows without inserting an instant streaming disc into your console.

In addition to eliminating the disc, there is a new user interface that brings a much richer and faster browsing experience, content search directly on the device, and dramatic improvements in how fast playback starts.

There is even more good news for PS3 owners: starting on Monday you’ll be able to instantly watch some movies and TV shows in 1080i high definition, listen to Dolby 5.1 channel surround sound, and view an increasing portion of our content library with subtitles. This will bring the home theater experience right to your living room and make instantly watching movies even more enjoyable. Here’s a news release from Netflix and Dolby with details.

Check out these improvements and continue to enjoy watching TV shows and movies streamed from Netflix.

Thanks to this video after the break, you can (virtually) be there at the New York Comic-Con to experience Keiji Inafune's surprise reveal of Mega Man Legends 3 Project for yourself. Inafune asks the audience to help design the rocket to rescue Mega Man from Elysium (where he was stranded at the end of Mega Man Legends 2), introduces the semi-democratic design process Capcom is trying out, and even ... puts out a "help wanted" sign.

If you love Mega Man, read fluent Japanese, and want to live in San Mateo, CA, you could be Capcom's Developer Room Liaison! It would be a nice way to pick up some money for a 3DS, at least.

Starting this Saturday, the PlayStation Store will update with one free movie rental as part of its "Midnight Movies" promotion. But, there's a catch! You'll need to sign on to the PSN between 8PM and 6AM EST. This weekend's movie will be Bram Stroker's Dracula. If you're up late playing some games on a Saturday night, might as well get a free movie download, right?

The game, which sprang from the PSP release Downstream Panic!, has players controlling the flow of water in order to guide presumably panicked creatures to safety.

The problem with old technology is that it's ... well, it's usually pretty old, by definition. We get spoiled by the new stuff -- things like wirelessness, ergonomitude and tactical feedbackery. Well, in the case of the latter, it would seem we now have someone to look up to: Andy Goetz.

He's gone ahead and added rumble functionality to the classic NES controller, which you can see above. Sure, it's not the most efficient mod -- caveat: Goetz can't really control when the controller provides feedback, so it's not a perfect union -- but we applaud his entry in the Oregon State University Engineering Expo nonetheless. We've been trying to fix the past for years -- who knew trying to build a time machine and finding somebody named Kyle Reese who's willing to use it was the wrong way to go?

[Thanks, @kreese]

Are you hungering for additional, curvy roads upon which you can hurtle yourself while riding upon a dangerously narrow sliver of plastic and metal? If so, you should probably be on suicide watch -- or, you should turn your attention to a recently released DLC pack for MotoGP 09/10, which adds Istanbul Park and the Shanghai International Circuit to the title's catalog of tracks.

Both tracks, which are modeled after real life MotoGP circuits, are apparently renowned for their difficulty, so amateur bikers need not apply. Well, we guess they can, but they're probably going to run into a whole bunch of walls and trees and stuff, which might make them regret paying the pack's 400 Microsoft Point ($4.99) entry fee.

Oral arguments for the Schwarzenegger v. EMA Supreme Court case are set to begin on November 2. In the run up to the historic court battle, which could result in the restriction of sales of violent video games, the Entertainment Consumers Association is planning to organize a rally on the steps of the Supreme Court itself. The event is set to take place on November 2 at 9:00 am at the US Supreme Court Building, with the ECA calling on gamers to join the rally "in support of free speech."

If you're planning on going, why not organize a carpool in the comments? After that, read through our litany of coverage on the issue, from its humble beginnings as a failed California state law to its upcoming moment in the spotlight before the Supreme Court. After all, we're sure it's a long ride to D.C. Might as well bone up on current events, right?
