There's a nice surprise waiting inside of the Back to the Future trilogy Blu-ray set, due to hit stores on October 26 -- apart from remastered versions of all three films, that is. After ripping the shrink-wrap off our copy, we discovered an insert advertising a "complimentary first episode" of Telltale's upcoming Back to the Future game for PC and Mac.

The insert lists a URL for redeeming the included code -- "121GIGAWATTS" -- which currently directs browsers to the the game's homepage. We contacted Telltale to find out when the episode will go live and were told that the timing has yet to be nailed down. "At the URL on the insert, people will be able to register for the free episode and will receive notification from Telltale Games when the episode is available to download," the developer clarified.

Also, if it wasn't obvious, the redemption code isn't unique, suggesting that the free episode will be available to the masses -- Telltale, when asked, couldn't confirm if this will be before or after the game (which is still undated) launches. "We haven't announced the release date for the first episode of the game quite yet - soon though," a rep said. Not soon enough, we say. Anyone got a DeLorean with a Mr. Fusion we can borrow?

This infographic certainly seems to point to it that conclusion… The official site for the title has the same information as well. Perhaps we’ll get a demo of the final DS game? Thanks to Maz Killer for the heads up!

You can learn a lot from this behind the scenes look at the Halo: Reach "Deliver Hope" ad. For example, did you know that the ad marks the first appearance of a fully suited, live-action Spartan? And did you know Spartans aren't actually real? Yeah, we're bummed too. Thanks a lot, Microsoft.

THQ's uDraw device, a drawing tablet for Wii, will launch in North America on November 14. The $69.99 package will include the tablet and uDraw Studio, a drawing and coloring game. In addition, the other two known uDraw-compatible games, Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure, will also be released on November 14, for $30 each.

Along with these three release dates (or this one release date for three things), THQ noted that "Future waves of video game titles are planned during calendar 2011 and beyond." It's nice to have some measure of reassurance that the peripheral will be supported, at least.

When the line started outside the Sony Centre at 10 AM in the morning, I didn’t quite know what to say, aside from a huge thank you for attending our Holiday Preview Event last Tuesday! You waited in line, you waited in the rain and more than 1,000 PlayStation fans showed up for their first look at the hottest games to hit the shelves this holiday season on the PS3, PlayStation Move and PSP.

The above video features both our Toronto & New York City PlayStation events

The lines for GT5 and Killzone 3, they were daunting, but you didn’t waver. Impressive. Some of you even wore your PlayStation sunglasses inside. How very Corey Hart of you. We also had a few celebrity appearances. Sackboy made his premiere that night, to the delight of many LittleBigPlanet fans. He even pulled out a few dance moves with a fellow Canadian. The security was also stellar, with Helghast soldiers securing the perimeter on an hourly rotation.

Heck some of you may even be mini-celebrities now (at least B-list) with the media we attracted that day. While you were busy demoing games, Citytv Toronto had us on the six o’clock news, along with CHCH Hamilton and Global TV Toronto and Vancouver.

If you weren’t caught on television, but you were caught on camera, we’d love to see your photos. Please feel free to post them on the PlayStation Holiday Preview Event Facebook page.

Since you’ve tried your skill at a number of games coming out this holiday season and early 2011, what’s on your holiday wish list? I can’t believe I’ve said holiday four times now…it’s still October!

You know who loves Claptrap from Borderlands? Everyone, that's who. So bask in some silly (and somewhat profane) Claptrap goodness in a new trailer, which brings together several DLC characters to advertise the Game of the Year Edition. Unfortunately, there is no Claptrap dancing. Sorry.

Well, since trading is coming out within a month, not counting Valve Time, I thought I should set up a trading topic. If we can scrounge up like eleven people for a highlander team, I'm sure there's enough people for it.

Also, the trading system might end up being passive, but that isn't stopping me making this topic.

Every couple of months or so, GameStop gets bored with its usual routine of selling all of its used games and accessories, so it goes on weekend-long tears where it starts giving them away with the purchase of two other items. Fortunately for all of us, this is one of those weekends.

There are ten lessons included on the retail version of Art Academy. At a Nintendo event, I was able to go through one of them on a DSi XL. As you'll see in the video after the break, Art Academy breaks down the process of drawing a tree into five "simple" steps.

What isn't evident in the video is how natural these directions feel. For example, the in-game tutor, Vince, tells you to draw your basic sketch from the ground up. Why? Because that's how trees and branches grow naturally in the environment. By mimicking his example, and listening to his advice, it becomes really easy to understand these basic concepts. Art Academy also goes through the steps of showing you what tools you'll need to use: whether it be a pencil, chalk, paint, etc.

While my limited time with Art Academy was very informative, I do have one gripe with the product: there's no way to export your created images off the DS system. Instead of looking at the tree I drew, you'll have to make do with the one in this video. But trust me, mine looked just as good.
