A portion of a Nintendo Life review… While the multiplayer has lost a considerable amount of its magic due to the much lower number of max players, everything else has been very well done: with over 150 tracks and the ability to create your own, achievements, and online multiplayer with up to five others, it captures [...]

Another fantastic Wii game that many ignored. If you’re looking for some great Halloween thrills, and a wonderful game by itself, make sure you pick up Dead Space: Extraction. One of the games for Wii that has impressed me most over the years.

Sega kind of has a thing for Phantasy Star. Ever since resurrecting the 8- and 16-bit RPG franchise back on Sega Dreamcast with Phantasy Star Online, the company has been rather steadily turning out new titles bearing the brand name. Most recently, it's been Phantasy Star Portable 2 for PSP, but, as discovered by Siliconera, Sega has at least two more Phantasies planned.

The Japanese Trademark Database lists both Phantasy Star Eternal Planets and Phantasy Star Eternal Hunters as recently registered. They're classified only as video games -- no platforms, natch -- and Siliconera speculates they could be two sides of the same coin ... er, game, a la Pokemon Black and White. Hopefully, Sega won't keep its phans waiting long for a reveal.

Our friend Kolma scored some major items at his local Good Will. Too bad that N64 doesn’t have the proper cables/accessories to actually work. That can be easily remedied, though. I really need to get out to some thrift shops to see what gaming gold I can dig up!

Though we're dutifully saving our hard-earned Halo: Reach credits for the "Pestilence" armor effect, some of you may already be thirsting for new duds in the game's Armory. Bungie's latest weekly update reveals that not only will Reach players get new armor options in the near future, but also the ability to blow past the game's max rank of Lieutenant Colonel Grade C -- all players have to do is complete 117 million daily and weekly challenges first!

Though that might sound somewhat lofty, Bungie predicts that its community's goal will be hit "sometime in November." We'll start doing our part for the cause right now, if you'll excuse us.

Quick bit of housekeeping before we get to the week’s reading list…

As you may already know, the updated, disc-free Netflix app is due to hit North American PS3s tomorrow. Some of our Canadian readers asked if their application is being updated with the new interface and features (such as 5.1 surround sound). The answer is yes; you’ll be prompted to patch the when you launch the Netflix app after the update goes live. Look for the update to hit before noon Pacific (don’t expect it at 12.01am tonight).
