The following snippets were taken from Nintendo Power… “After years of soul-crushing disappointment, fans may find it hard to believe. Yet I’m here to tell you that Sonic Colors is a fantastic game. Not just a step in the right direction, but an unequivocal success. In fact, it’s the best entry in the series since the [...]

I think it’s fair to say that Metroid: Other M is not the Metroid game that many people wanted. Some gamers seem to really enjoy the direction taken with Samus’ most recent outing, while others feel that the character of Samus has been tainted a bit by the Other M outing. While we’ve [...]

Haven't you always wondered about what kind of rich, storied cultures surrounded the vertically-centric gunfights of the Tribes series? Like, what's the historical significance of all those jet packs, you know? These pressing questions may soon find an answer -- developer Hi-Rez Studios has acquired the rights to the Tribes franchise, and is using those newfound rights to make a PvP-focused action-MMO titled Tribes Universe.

A post on the forums for Hi-Rez' other flagship title, Global Agenda, revealed a few scarce details for the new project, the most intriguing of which being, "a significant rewrite to the Unreal Engine servers to allow for 100+ players to be fighting in the same map." An alpha testing phase for the game is currently set for early 2011, and players who have reached the Global Agenda level cap will be given priority for invitations. Here we'd hoped we'd have priority for invitations, because we own an actual jet pack. It's true! We made it ourselves.

The Diablo 3 crafting sanctuary panel, much as the name suggests, did introduce a look at the new Diablo 3 item crafting system. However, it also covered quite a few interesting inside looks at the philosophy and process of the upcoming Blizzard game.

As game director Jay Wilson puts it, Sanctuary is a world at war. It's been 20 years since the events of Diablo 3, in which the 3 prime evils were vanquished, and hell has been preparing for revenge ever since. The development team has been working on building that world under seige, and this panel was meant to reveal a little bit about how they've been going about doing that.

You guys can't imagine our disappointment right now. We camped out for tickets, ponied up for the entry fee and made the long trek to Anaheim -- but we were operating under the assumption that BlizzCon was a celebration of that timeless Dairy Queen treat. We arrived with lists of toppings we'd like to see whipped into soft serve, but we don't think anyone here is going to be able to help us out on that front.

Below are our seven favorite gaming-centric webcomics from this past week. Check them out, and vote for your favorite in the poll after the jump!

Yarn Meetings (Brawl in the Family)
Results May Vary (Virtual Shackles)
A Very Belmont Romance (Digital Unrest)
Vwingtone (Awkward Zombie)
That Constant Refrain (Penny Arcade)
#1 Fan (Nerf Now)
Just in Time for the Holidays (No Cash Value)

Continuing its tradition of putting out quality, humorous browser-based games, Adult Swim recently launched its latest pixelated onus: Corporate Climber. The game's a simple platformer where the player ascends through the ranks of a major, criminally unsafe business by literally ascending through said business' corporate headquarters. Basically, it's like an episode of The Office, only it's way more violent, and way, way less awkward.

Check it out over on Adult Swim's game portal -- that is, assuming you can resist the siren call of Robot Unicorn Attack. You're playing it right now, aren't you? You monster.
