One of our favorite features of Dead Nation is easily the weapon upgrade system, which helps separate the game from the many zombie shooters on the market these days. See it in action in this latest trailer, which highlights the various ways players can steel themselves before the undead hordes.

You or someone you know probably has a Metal Gear Solid-themed ringtone -- we'd be willing to wager that you or this person is probably super jumpy as a result. Admit it -- every time you hear that Codec sound, you think you're getting a call from the director of the CIA, not "your boy Joey" who wants to know if you're "down for 30-cent wing night at B-Dubs." Or perhaps you're rocking the iconic alert sound, which could lead to embarrassing scenarios like the one presented in last week's Wrapup-winning comic, Awkward Zombie's "Vwingtone."

Second and third place went to Brawl in the Family's "Yarn Meetings" and Penny Arcade's "That Constant Refrain," respectively. If you've got a favorite strip you'd like to see in tomorrow's Wrapup, drop a link in the comments, or send in a tip!

According to an image sent to Joystiq by an anonymous tipster, it looks like Microsoft is rewarding all the participants of the Kinect beta program. A letter, purportedly written by Xbox Live VP Marc Whitten, is offering to let testers to keep their Kinect sensor now that the beta program is over. In addition, testers will also receive a code to redeem a free download of Kinect Adventures. We're attempting to verify with Microsoft, but it certainly makes sense. After all, it stands to reason that some testers won't want to part with their sensor and be reticent to send it back to Microsoft. It wouldn't be a stretch for people to suddenly "lose" their sensor either.

We'll update this post if we receive word from Microsoft.

Despite the shortcomings of the product as a whole, there's a lot to love in Just Cause 2 -- most of which having to do with the many, many things you can do with a parachute, grappling hook and some ingenuity. By our calculation, that should earn the game a spot in the video game history books; and it seems Sony and Microsoft agree. The game has reached Platinum Hits and PS3 Classics status in the U.K., with an associated drop in price to £19.99.

We've contacted Square Enix to see if the game will receive a similar treatment in the U.S.. We certainly don't see why not. We love explosive stunts just as much as our overseas cohorts.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg said that he expects Kinect to sell more units during its launch period than the Wii did when it launched in 2006. "We'll definitely sell more sensors than the Wii sold when it launched or the Xbox 360 sold when it launched," said Greenberg, though he doesn't necessarily believe that sales will be dependent on high review scores. He noted that Kinect offers "different types of titles and experiences" than what most core users are used to.

"The correlation between a review score for Halo: Reach and sales is very high, but Kinect Sports is more about just having fun," said Greenberg, adding that Microsoft would certainly like to see high review scores, though he doesn't expect "the same type of correlation between reviews and actual sales of the game." Greenberg's comments echo similar comments from EA's Peter Moore last year, when he stated that casual Wii game sales are more dependent on Amazon user reviews than Metacritic.

Check out the whole interview for Greenberg's thoughts on Steel Batallion, Black Ops versus Halo: Reach and PlayStation Move, which he doesn't see as direct competition for Kinect

You know that Dragon's Lair omnibus you've been working on? The one that details every single version of all the Dragon's Lair games? We're sure you thought it was finally finished and ready to send off to the publisher, but it looks like it's time for another addendum: According to the ESRB, Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp is headed to DSi.

The first Dragon's Lair was brought to DSiWare by Digital Leisure last year, so it's likely the same will be the case for Dirk's second adventure. We know -- now you have to sit through months of approvals, edits and, of course, the costly resetting of the printing press, but you want the omnibus to be accurate, right?

Ubisoft has revealed three more tracks for the upcoming Michael Jackson experience entitled, um, Michael Jackson: The Experience. There will certainly be more than a few MJ fans happy to hear about the inclusion of "Ghost" and "Rock with You," but the highlight of the announcement is easily the Halloween classic "Thriller."

We can only hope that the game will include the full version of the song -- werewolves, Vincent Price and all -- however unlikely that may be. Check out some new screens in the gallery below and some new gameplay footage after the break (no "Thriller" footage, sorry).

Tale of Tales is celebrating the Day of the Dead this weekend with a sale on its three games, which are all sober, quiet meditations on -- what else -- sugar skulls death. Through November 2, you can pay any price you want, from $3 up, for The Path, The Graveyard and Fatale bundled together.

There is some motivation to pay more than the minimum (beyond it being pretty crass to lowball an indie like that) -- there's a "special surprise" in store for anyone who pays more than $50 for the bundle (which is regularly priced at $22). You'll also be motivating Tale of Tales to complete its latest ... tale, The Book of 8, as earnings from this sale will go toward the game's development.

Silicon Valley motion-sensing technology company Canesta has announced that it is being purchased by Microsoft, with the sale due to be finalized before the end of 2010. Canesta develops 3D sensing hardware not unlike that used in Kinect, which launches next week.

The company also develops software for working with 3D tracking data, which is where we'd most likely see the deal bear fruit in terms of gaming, specifically in the evolution of Kinect's software-driven capabilities. It's also possible that the acquisition -- at least in the short-term -- is a move to head off any potential claims that Microsoft may have infringed on Canesta's patents during the development of Kinect.
