A portion of a MonroeWorld review… At $30 - or $10 a game - you could do a lot worse with your cash, considering how expensive these games were in their single-game HD formats. Getting ahold of this title might require a little effort on your part - since I haven’t seen it available in a [...]

A Wii price cut could be just the thing to spoil Kinect's and Move's first holiday season, but, according to Satoru Iwata, it's not going to happen. In response to a question about a potential price drop, Nintendo's president recently told investors (as translated by the Associated Press), "Of course, we cannot say it will never happen, but we are not thinking of it for the near future." Instead, Nintendo is offering the limited-edition red Wii to lure new consumers to choose Wii this holiday.

Of course, in August 2009, Iwata similarly denied plans to drop the Wii's price. "At present," he said during an investor meeting at the time, "we're not thinking of doing anything with the price." And then the price was cut by $50 a month later.

With the holiday calendar flying by faster than Ezio Auditore free running across rooftops in Firenze, November’s Episode 30 focuses on the fantastic fun you don’t want to miss this holiday season.

Of course, first up, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is this episode’s lead story and in our preview Veronica Belmont spends some hands-on time with the game and talks to Ubisoft Missions Director, Gaelic Simard about this vastly expanded environment including vistas of Renaissance Rome in High Def along with the very cool game mode allowing players to recruit and deploy a posse of up and coming assassins.

With Kratos coming back to your PSP system in the new God of War: Ghost of Sparta tomorrow, Veronica sharpens her Blades of Athena to slice and dice her way through another larger-than-life God of War adventure. Game Director Dana Jan explains the development team’s approach to maintaining the grand scale and epic gameplay of a God of War title on the PSP system.

And, yes, it does play large.

Qore also went behind-the-scenes of the ‘God of War: Game Directors Live’ production. This historic event brought together the development leads of the five God of War titles for a roundtable covering the evolution of the franchise. Audrey Cleo’s reports from the event with interviews of David Jaffe, Cory Barlog, Ru Weerasuriya, Stig Asmussen, and, again, Dana Jan along with a sneak peek of the finished discussion. Very cool.

“Planetary (Go!)”, a track from the upcoming album by My Chemical Romance has been selected as the opening song for Gran Turismo 5. Audrey Cleo hangs with the band as they get their hands on the game and they talk about making the new album, driving fast cars and the thrill of having their song chosen for the game!

With the new TRON: Legacy, the motion picture, and TRON: Evolution, the video game, rolling out during this holiday season, Qore catches up with Steven Lisberger the writer/director of the original movie along with Legacy Producer, Sean Bailey and Game Director, Darren Hedges to explore how the movie and game work together to expand (and maybe explain?) the full sci-fi universe of TRON.

In this month’s Download Center – Qore subscribers can pick up the Mousetrap Mod and Kart pack for ModNation Racers. In case you haven’t checked these games out yet, all Qore viewers have access to the ModNation Racers demo and the Vanquish Official Demo.

Look for Episode 30 tomorrow.

As you can see, Nintendo has slightly shifted their wording for Pokemon Black/White’s release in North America. Now we have a nice Q1 listing, which could end up being a bit earlier than Spring. Also reconfirmed is the March release for the 3DS in NA and Europe. If we could only get [...]

We're not about to start pretending like we understand what Yu-Gi-Oh is all about. (It's like Pokémon with cards or something, right?) Anyway, Konami has tweeted that Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Decade Duels -- try saying that one five times fast -- will be dealt out on Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday. The game seems geared to online play and allows up to four players to duke it out in free-for-all or tag duels. Naturally, players will also be able to bulk up their decks by purchasing new cards on Xbox Live Marketplace.

We'd love to close this post with a pithy Yu-Gi-Oh joke but, sadly, our inexperience renders this impossible. So, we'll just have to leave it to YouTube user ipooinyourface.

[Thanks, Jason]

The following comments come from Capcom… Regarding how Inafune’s departure came about: “With the harshness of the current market, we felt that there was the need for some fundamental reforms to the development structure. During the preparation phase for these structural reforms, Mr. Inafune had desires for where he’d like to progress as a creator, and [...]

Looks like Square Enix characters are going to have hold that spiky hair with generic product, as the company lowered its earnings forecast today for the six months (first half of its fiscal year) ending September 30, 2010. The publisher reduced new sales expectations by 10.5 percent to ¥68 billion ($846 million), which is far below the ¥90.6 billion the company took in during the same period last year. Squeenix also lowered its net income expectations for the two quarters to ¥1.7 billion ($21 million), a reduction of just over 29 percent from the original forecast.

The company said that the declining figures were due to the "challenging operating environment" in which new games experienced "relatively slow growth." Squeenix's operating income remains high, however, thanks to "profitable carryover sales of major titles released in March of the previous fiscal year" -- i.e., Final Fantasy 13 et al. Square Enix will release its actual second fiscal quarter results in the near future.
