It seems that digital games retailer GOG isn't just content with abusing your trust -- now it's turning its sights on abusing every last second of your free time. The site recently added yet another gargantuan RPG to its catalog: Black Isle Studios' Dungeons & Dragons 3E-inspired RPG, Icewind Dale 2. The game comes in its "Complete" edition, which also includes the aptly named "Adventure Pack." As far as we can tell, it contains a metric ton of undiluted adventure.

The game will run you $9.99, creating yet another terrifying playtime-to-cost ratio. Seriously, with $50 and 10GB of free space, GOG downloads could occupy your leisure time until the end of days.

The PlayStation Plus requirement for the PS3 Hulu Plus app will go away next week, allowing all PSN users to download the app. And you'll be able to use that app, since Hulu just made it so that you no longer have to be invited to subscribe to the $9.99/month service. The Hulu Plus service remains in "preview" while the company works to add more features and more devices -- like new Sony Bravia TVs, which Sony also announced.

The app you'll be able to download next week, according to Hulu, "incorporates some of the feedback we've received to date" from users of the (already nice) app that's been available through PlayStation Plus since July. Hopefully that includes the feedback about wanting to watch all the same shows on our PS3 as we can on the computer. We ... we just wanted to see Top Chef.

People don't just play poker for fun -- they play it to accrue piles of wealth. Telltale is providing similar, if small-scale, motivation to buy and play its crossover poker game, Poker Night at the Inventory, in the form of Team Fortress 2 items. You'll get one, the Heavy's poker visor, for pre-ordering from the Telltale Store, and you'll be able to get more from special Item Rounds within the game.

The items you'll be able to win from the game's other characters include Max's Lugermorph handgun for the Scout and Engineer, and a Freelance Badge that everyone can wear; an Enthusiast timepiece (Penny Arcade's infamous watch) for the Spy from Tycho; Strong Bad's Dangeresque shades, usable when the Demoman is gonna have to jump!; and from the Heavy, an Iron Curtain gun, for ... the Heavy. Not much of a loss on his part, then?

Check out a new trailer after the break. We'll warn you -- you're going to hear Tycho's voice (not the real Tycho, but a voice actor for the character), and it's going to be weird. Like seeing a radio DJ's face for the first time after hearing him, but in reverse.

As you may have already seen, today Sony announced the availability of the Hulu Plus service on 2010 BRAVIA HDTVs and BRAVIA Internet Video Link via the BRAVIA Internet Video platform and will soon be available on Blu-ray Disc players, Blu-ray Home Theater Systems, Network Media Player and DASH. But, perhaps the most exciting news for all of you PlayStation fans is the upcoming availability of Hulu Plus to all PlayStation 3 users in the United States who enjoy free access to PlayStation Network and its variety of online content.

4791248371_c6826859df.jpg

Beginning next week, Hulu Plus will lift the invitation-only availability of its service, which was previously exclusive to select PlayStation Plus subscribers, and open it up to all PlayStation Network members, making the PlayStation 3 the first and only console dedicated to gaming to offer the service.

The Hulu Plus subscription service offers full current season runs of hit TV programs from major broadcast programming studios and will add to the more than 27,800 movies and TV episodes already available on the PlayStation Store, providing the most exhaustive catalogue of entertainment content to PlayStation Network members.

We’ll have more to share next week, so make sure to check back in for details on where you can find Hulu Plus on the PlayStation Network.

On paper, Sonic Free Riders probably sounded pretty cool. Actually, on second thought, it probably sounded like a cheap and easy way to make a Kinect launch game. I can see the instructions to the developer: "Hey guys, you know that third game in the universally panned Sonic Riders series that we shelved a few years back? Well, take it, make it work with Kinect just well enough to get past Microsoft, and get it out the door by November 4th. But don't, and we can't stress this enough, put any work into making it worthwhile."

Or at least that's what one would imagine transpired after devoting, as I did, entirely too much time to this mind-numbing mess of a game.

So, you've tired of your life as a virtual mob boss/vampire/pirate/zombie/wizard/other thing while playing your favorite Facebook games? Square Enix has two new social titles that might tickle your fancy. The first, Knights of the Crystals, is a Mafia Wars-esque RPG, in which players spend recharging Action Points to complete quests, and in turn, earn XP, gold and new classes, which drastically alter player stats. It's a game genetically engineered to addict, and we are absolutely terrified of it.

The other new game, Chocobo's Crystal Tower, is cut from a similar cloth, albeit with a lot more feathers. In addition to raiding towers for untold treasures, players are tasked with breeding and raising chocobos, which will do all the aforementioned raiding. Any Gil money earned can be used to customize your ranch or chocobos. It's FarmVille meets Final Fantasy -- and we might be even more scared of this one, which we didn't think was possible.

Perpetually startled developer WHA Entertainment has announced that a free update for its licensed PSN beat-em-up, Kick-Ass, will go live next Tuesday, November 9. The patch will introduce a new mission, a few new enemies and some new special moves for the game's un-superpowered protagonists, while adding a few intangible fixes, like better AI balancing and so-called "improved Trophies." Are they shinier this time around? We're lost.

The patch is apparently so potent that WHA now refers to the game as "Kick-Ass New and Improved," which ... is not the best title we've ever heard. How about "Kick-More-Ass," or "Kick-Assier?"
