Look, everyone should own a piece of apparel with a Chocobo on it, alright? That's just a scientific fact. We can't imagine doing better than this entry on democratic T-shirt retailer RIPT: Titled "Hold Your Chocobos," the shirt features the graphic above and, for today only, will cost you just $10.

There will be no rest for Madden following the February 6 confetti drop at Cowboys Stadium. As the league and fans celebrate (and/or curse) the new Super Bowl champ, drawing the 2010-11 season to a memorable (and/or forgettable) close, EA's tireless football franchise will quickly suit up for a rare off-season appearance as Madden NFL Football for 3DS. The publisher today announced the title as part of the handheld's launch lineup in the first half of 2011.

Though not an official Madden 11 release in name, the 3DS game will certainly play like one, as it includes this year's time-shaving GameFlow system, in addition to the paired-down 5-on-5 mode that has become a staple in the series' Wii iterations. Of course, EA reminds us that Madden NFL Football will be unique in that the gameplay and features "jump off the screen with 3D graphics," not to mention the supposed utilization of "the remarkable power of the Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen."

We know what you're thinking -- but, no, EA has somehow muffed the perfect opportunity for a true "Madden" mode. Why play football, when you could sit back and telestrate it? And, hey, if that mic's not a means for blurting (and/or babbling) your own Maddenisms into the game, then what's it there for? C'mon EA, this is Madden football, remember!

NHL fans will want to check the PlayStation Store right now. Sony and the NHL have just announced an exclusive partnership that enables PS3 owners to watch live hockey games through the NHL GameCenter Live app on the PlayStaiton Network. The app, which will exist under the Video section of the XMB, will be available for $9.99 or for free to PlayStation Plus members.

The interface of the app should be familiar to anyone that's tried MLB.tv, released earlier this year on PS3. With the app installed, PS3 owners will be able to access features like post-game highlights, team schedules, standings, player stats and profiles, and the full NHL scoreboard. Fans that subscribe to the GameCenter Live service ($169 annually) will get additional features, most notably the ability to stream live out-of-market games and "select" playoff broadcasts. In addition to the live streams, subscribers will get access to full-length and condensed replays of games 48 hours after they air (no blackouts). Included with membership is access to the NHL Vault, which gives you instant access to full replays of classic NHL games, going as far back to the 1960s.

NHL's Senior Director of Digital Business Development Alexandre G. Simon told us that the decision to partner with Sony exclusively was an easy one, after a successful experience selling content on the PlayStation Network's video service. According to Simon, the GameCenter app is a huge opportunity for the league to expand its reach to gamers who may be familiar with the NHL games, but haven't had the ability to regularly follow live games. With no ISP restrictions, and with "about half" of fans following out-of-market teams, the GameCenter app might just lure in some new followers -- especially for those who don't subscribe or have access to the Versus cable channel, where the NHL currently resides.

Hi Everyone – I’m excited to announce that the NHL is streaming its way onto the PS3! Beginning today, all PS3 users in the United States and Canada can download the new NHL GameCenter application, an exclusive offer for PS3 users making it the first and only gaming console to stream live hockey games in HD.

NHL GameCenter LIVE subscribers who enjoy free access to PlayStation Network and its variety of online content, can now stream live out-of-market regular season and select playoff game broadcasts in HD by downloading the NHL GameCenter application on the PS3 system. In addition to offering live hockey games, NHL GameCenter LIVE also allows subscribers to watch full-length and condensed replays of the current season games they missed (48 hours after they air, no blackouts) and relive NHL history with unlimited access to over 500 classic games from NHL Vault. Check out the demo to see how it works:

PS3 users that do not have a subscription to NHL GameCenter LIVE will still have access to a wide range of NHL content through the NHL GameCenter application. Fans will have access to features such as post-game highlights, team schedules, standings, player stats and profiles, and the full NHL scoreboard.

You can download the NHL application for $9.99 and access it under the “Video” icon on the XMB menu. However, if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can download the NHL GameCenter application for free, continuing PlayStation’s goal to deliver exclusive opportunities only made available to PlayStation Plus members.

If you aren’t an NHL GameCenter LIVE subscriber, you can sign up by visiting www.ps3.com/nhl to get an account and ultimately link it to your PS3 using a registration code obtained through the app on your device. NHL GameCenter LIVE is priced at $169 (U.S.) for an annual subscription and includes the NHL Vault service. NHL Vault is also available separately for $4.95 (U.S.) a month.

We hope you enjoy watching all of the excitement of the NHL delivered via PlayStation Network!

As we promised you last week, Hulu Plus is now available to all PlayStation 3 users in the United States via the PlayStation Network. Now, in addition to free access to a variety of content already available on the PlayStation Network, we’re giving you even more options to the entertainment content you want!

A subscription to Hulu Plus will cost $9.99 per month, giving you access to full seasons of current hit TV shows from more than 100 leading content providers, including ABC, NBC and FOX, and movies from many of the most well-known studios in the U.S.

How does this change from what was already available? Well, you no longer need to have a PlayStation Plus subscription to gain access and you don’t have to wait for an invitation from Hulu either. Beginning today, Hulu Plus is open to all PlayStation Network members in the U.S.

To get your subscription to Hulu Plus after downloading the free app through the PlayStation Store, visit www.ps3.com/hulu, which will direct you to the sign-up page. When creating your account, you will need to link your PS3 to your Hulu Plus subscription by simply using the referral code that will appear on the screen from your PS3. If you are already a Hulu Plus subscriber, you can enter your user name and password directly into the app or just enter the referral code at www.hulu.com/activate to link the device. You’ll then see the Hulu Plus app appear under the video icon on the XMB.

In addition to Hulu Plus on your PS3, you’ll also have access from your connected Sony Blu-ray Disc players, Blu-ray Home Theater Systems, Network Media Players, DASH devices, and BRAVIA TV’s. And, on top of that, selected BRAVIA Internet-enabled devices will qualify you for a promotion that provides $20 towards a trial of the Hulu Plus service. To learn about the promotion or redeem the offer, visit www.sony.com/huluplus.

We really can't thank GOG enough for taking mercy on our free time this week by not releasing another 100+ hour classic fantasy RPG. Rather, this week's new offering is Space Rangers, which sounds like just another Gears of War-esque, over-the-top shooter! That should be pretty light, but let's just check the game's description to be sure: "A space tactical role-playing game the plot of which is set is an enormous, living and spontaneous world." Yes. Well. Hm.

Space Rangers can be yours for $9.99 -- not that you have that kind of money, as between the availability of Icewind Dale 2, Neverwinter Nights Diamond and Planescape: Torment, you have almost certainly lost your job.

Yes, it's still on the Wii.

The latest Jump magazine, summarized by Andriasang, reveals two online game modes for Mistwalker's surprisingly exciting action RPG, The Last Story. The competitive mode is a battle arena, and the cooperative mode has players teaming up to fight tough monsters -- reminiscent of a certain phenomenally successful series about hunting monsters, perhaps. Both modes support up to six players and are accessed through the game's "Raid Lobby" area.

With players meeting their pals on the internet, it makes sense that you can customize your character. Andriasang notes that players' armor and equipment is visible on their characters, and items can be "painted" to customize their color. The Last Story will be released in Japan on January 27. No plans have been announced for a launch outside of Japan.

Hey, here's that new desktop background you desperately wanted, even if you didn't know it yet. It's a gargantuan spread featuring over 200 characters from video game franchises, new and old, redrawn in the style of Mega Man. The image comes from pixel artist Chris Bringhurst, who released a compilation half this size last month. If he wanted to keep doubling it every few weeks or so, we would not hold it against him.

There are a few tasty treats in this week's European PSN update -- we can totally get down on the discounted Assassins' Creed 2 content, the Bon Jovi track pack in Rock Band 3 and the recently released PSN title Crescent Pale Mist. However, the star of the show this week is clearly Grandia. Not only because it's an incredible game, but also because it was like, the only JRPG the US PSN had that the EU PSN didn't. Fine, alright? We get it. You guys win.
