#reviewroundup In the past week, we've reviewed seven video games (and a bunch of Black Ops gear). Some were great. At least one was not. These are our bottom lines for seven notable games, with links to our full reviews. More »

#callofduty That Call of Duty: Black Ops ad featuring Kobe Bryant and Jimmy Kimmel is selling more than just copies of Treyarch's war game. It's also bringing in cash for The Rolling Stones, thanks to the spot's use of "Gimme Shelter." More »

Kung-Fu Live made quite the impression when I saw it a few months ago, promising a full body-controlled gaming experience -- using Sony's PlayStation Eye instead of Microsoft's much-hyped Kinect.

As with Kinect, you'll need a lot of space in order to play comfortably. The developer tells us that you should "ideally have about 7x9 feet of space." The camera needs to be able to see your entire body, from head to toe. You'll also need some bright lighting, and you'll have to watch what you wear. For example, wearing a white shirt against a white wall will confuse the game. (Hence the jacket in the picture above.)

Without the help of special potions, unguents or spells, immortality is a pretty tricky thing to obtain. Fire Hose Games is offering a pretty rare opportunity to have your genius brain live forever: The studio is auctioning off the chance to name one of the characters in its upcoming downloadable tower defense/action title Slam Bolt Scrappers, one-hundred percent of the proceeds from which will go to Child's Play. A second character's naming rights will be sold off during the Child's Play Charity Dinner in Seattle on December 7 -- tickets for which are still available!

There are some limitations, of course. You can't name the characters anything inappropriate, copyright-infringing or too long, so, sorry, Boner MacBurgerKing, but you'll never be a real person. Not ever.

For the holidays, Sony is unleashing a previously unimaginable amount of Kevin Butler on an unsuspecting American public. Following yesterday's Gran Turismo 5 ad, Sony unveiled two additional commercials today starring the ersatz executive. Both ads push the PS3's appeal for the "whole family" (meaning not just you): one highlighting its utility as a Blu-Ray player, and the other depicting PSN's ability to make the device a Facebooking, Netflixing multimedia set-top box.

Despite the mainstream message, both ads also have some value to the PS3 "core gamer" -- because they're pretty funny, if just a touch (or sniff) creepy. See them after the break.

Cave Story publisher Nicalis tweeted a November 29 release date for, well, something on DSiWare. "Guess what'll be available November 29th on DSiWare?!?," the publisher hinted. Luckily, this game of Guess Who? doesn't require the elimination of too many facial features, as Nicalis has only one known DSiWare project, and it's a good one: Cave Story.

It may come as a shock to those of us who waited so long for the WiiWare version to arrive -- or those in Europe still waiting for the WiiWare version. It's only been two months since the initial announcement of the DS port!

With TRON Legacy bringing the uncanny valley to theaters nationwide on December 17th in IMAX 3D and Disney Digital 3D, the pressure’s on TRON: Evolution to serve up some bleeding-edge hardware of its own. Luckily, TRON: Evolution on the PS3 is locked and loaded state-of-the-art stereoscopic 3D as well as PlayStation Move support. We spoke with Game Director Darren Hedges for the full skinny on TRON: Evolution and grabbed first video of PlayStation Move controls in action for the epic lightcycle sequences in the campaign.

Tech details aside, Hedges explains how TRON: Evolution’s persistent character customization across all modes means your progress and upgrades (roughly 60 in all) in the single-player campaign will transfer to online multiplayer, and vice-versa. Hedges also details how the TRON: Evolution team worked closely with the film team on TRON: Legacy, sharing assets, motion-capture data, and 3D techniques. Rey’s new video is fascinating, so give it a watch and let us know what you think in the comments.

It's rare for games on the Wii to get any post-launch support, thanks largely to the console's proclivity for overly complicated digital distribution, as well as its relatively meager amount of internal storage. Treyarch isn't letting those hurdles stop it from fixing a few connectivity issues in the Wii version of Call of Duty: Black Ops: community manager Josh Olin has announced that "We have fixed many of the problems you have reported and are currently testing those fixes in anticipation of releasing an update." The patch will be available "within the next week or so."

We've contacted Olin to find out exactly how this update will be delivered. In-game? Through the Shop Channel? Storks? Some kind of stork delivery system?

Together, he, Ludwig and Justin will talk Rock Band 3, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Harry Potter and Call of Duty: Black Ops. It's almost too much for the average listener to handle. Almost. ... Oh, and they talk about the VGA noms.
