Apparently, Thanksgiving is a full week now. You might be thinking that makes sense -- the olden-times harvest festival on which the holiday is based must have been, like, days of celebration, right? No, no, that's not it at all.

Thanksgiving Week is the period beginning on the Tuesday before Turkey Day (that's today!) and lasting through the following Monday in which you put all miscellaneous nothings aside and align your actions with one all-important focus: tremendous savings. Sure, the bulk of your effort will be expended on Black Friday (why else would you feast the day before?), with some impulse clicking for good measure on Cyber Monday, but don't neglect Microsoft's Thanksgiving Week of Xbox Live sales. After all, you're most thankful for your Xbox -- aren't you?

After the break, we've posted the complete list of deals for the week (effective today through Monday, November 23). All sales are offered to both Xbox Live Gold and Sliver "Free" members. Also, check the promotion page on Xbox.com this Friday for additional, one-day savings, including 'Splosion Man for just two bucks.

Hello, It’s great to be back on the PlayStation.Blog!

When my three friends and I first got together as Hello Games and started work on Joe Danger, we never expected the amazingly supportive response we’ve had from the PlayStation community. So what better time to have some fresh news than at Thanksgiving :)

First off some people still haven’t even played the multi-award winning Joe Danger yet! Just for those patient people, between the 23rd and 30th of November you can purchase Joe Danger in the American store for HALF PRICE. That’s just $7.49 for what many are calling the “Game of the Year” on PSN (mainly this was our Mums… but they know their games). If you don’t trust our Mums, then you can check out IGN, GameInformer or Destructoid. That’s the cheapest 30 hours of death-defying, stunt-biking, high-octance gameplay you can get ANYWHERE.

To celebrate the sale, we’re releasing some awesome new characters for Joe Danger, each of these comes with their own unique style, new motorbike, crazy new moves and special collectibles. Grab a new character to show off your new skills in multiplayer or use them to record hilarious replay videos!

We thought it might be nice to ask the community for their suggestions for new characters and here is what they came up with (don’t blame us). Firstly we have the ghoulish, undead Knight “Sir Bonehead’, collecting Holy Grails to undo the curse of the Lady of the Lake. We’ve also got Joe wearing a Chicken suit, with egg-cellent new special moves like “The Red Rooster” and “Cock-a-Doodle-Danger”!

The most popular suggestion by far was for a playable Monkey (of course), so say hello to “Chuckles the Chimp”, you mightn’t know his name, but maybe his Fez will be familiar.

We don’t have Thanksgiving here in the UK, but Hello Games really like food, so we celebrate it anyway. That’s why we decided to let loose Joe Danger’s turkey-chomping, Native American brother “Geronim-Joe”. Prepare your best War Cry and have a happy Thanksgiving as you gobble down some tasty turkey on your trusty steed!

Hello Games wants to genuinely thank the community again for their amazing support. We really hope you enjoy the new characters or grab a copy of Joe Danger at half price! Go and spread the word :)

You can keep up to date with Hello Games and Joe Danger on our blog, follow us on Twitter or even just send us a e-mail!

The last time Nintendo exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Show, it presented graphical demos for its new "Project Reality," a joint project with Silicon Graphics -- a project that we now know as the Nintendo 64. That was in 1994.

After that 16-year absence, Nintendo is returning to a CES more likely to be full of iPads than Newtons, and with Sega a happy partner instead of a bitter enemy. Though CES organizers didn't announce exactly what Nintendo would be exhibiting at the 2011 CES "Gaming Showcase," it seems likely that Nintendo chose this venue, which features "the latest gaming technology advancements," to show off its new consumer electronics device, the 3DS. Its 3D display will fit right in among the masses of gadgets shown off at the expo.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 developer Eden Games is betting you'll be all done with Gran Turismo 5 and ready for a new driving game by early next year, announcing plans to drop TDU2's opening flag on February 8. It appears the studio is using its extra half year of development time -- the game was pushed back from September to "Q1 2011" this past August -- to create an unbelievably complex pre-order incentive plan at several different retailers, broken down after the break.

We'll parse it for you real quick right here, should you not have the time: GameStop pre-orders get the Casino DLC while every other retailer just gives you a car. Sure, Walmart's offer of an in-game Bugati Veyron Supersport 2010 is tempting, but it's not a whole freakin' game mode.

If you're anything like us (read: too poor to afford a 3DTV), you've been hoping secretly that 3D would just go away and stop reminding you of that whole totally awesome dimension from which you've been excluded. If that's the way of things, Sony's showing no sympathy : The company says that over 50 3D games are in development for the PS3, 20 internally at Sony alone.

As SCEE studio director Mick Hocking told Develop: "Overall we have more than fifty titles currently being converted into 3D, and this number if growing fast. Some of them are massive names. That's a really, really good sign that the industry is behind our unique message that 3D is a key element in the future of home consoles."

It's an impressive figure, and it doesn't require as much of a sacrifice as you might think. Hocking also told Develop that adding 3D to game exacts a two-percent increase in production cost and time. That's compared to five percent from "sweet explosions" and a full seven percent from "well-rendered bleeding buttholes."

Fluidity, a WiiWare game that might be described as a platformer starring a small amount of water, will be released on the Wii Shop on December 6 for 1,200 Points.

First revealed at this year's PAX, Fluidity is a side-scrolling game in which players tilt the Wii Remote to move water through various obstacles, gaining the ability to freeze or boil the water when necessary. While a game like this may not really need a story (do you really need to motivate some water?) Nintendo revealed one in its announcement today: Fluidity is set within an encyclopedia called "Aquaticus," which is apparently under attack from the evil "Influence." Okay, it's not a lot of story.

To learn more about how Fluidity works, you'll find a 'How to Play" trailer after the break.

"It was just going to be a bad game." And with that, Andrew Wilson, EA Sport's head of worldwide development summed up the reason behind the cancellation of what was meant to be this year's premiere installment in the basketball series reboot. Speaking with IGN, the executive noted that although NBA Elite's controls showed promise, the idea of having one stick for dribbling and shooting, and the other for movement, needed more time to percolate.

Wilson explained, "At the very core, we have to build a great game first and foremost." The executive also noted that the company's decision to move all future production of the NBA Elite series to Madden developer Tiburon shouldn't be seen as a slight against EA Canada.

Wilson made no mention of the NBA 2K11 wrapped van that pulls up to EA headquarters every Sunday at noon and, while nobody is around, lets Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick out to deliver his most heartfelt rendition of "Danke Schoen."
