It has been seven years since the last Golden Sun game, the GBA's Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Now, after that long wait, Camelot Software Planning has put aside Mario-flavored sports games (and Capcom's We Love Golf) to produce a new entry in the revered RPG series, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, available next week on DS. We spoke with Hiroyuki Takahashi, one of the two Takahashi brothers responsible for creating the series, and Nintendo assistant producer Yuya Sato about the new game and about bringing a seemingly lost series back to life.

It seems you can't spit without hitting a digitally distributed puzzle adventure about Russian nesting dolls these days, and now Double Fine is adding to the pile with its next release. The just-revealed Stacking is slated to arrive in spring of next year on XBLA and PSN.
The game, set in the 1930s, lets Charlie Blackmore (the world's smallest Russian nesting doll) slip into the husks of other local matryoshkas and uses their abilities to solve puzzles in the world. Details are scant, but you can get a taste of Charlie's world in the debut trailer just after the break.

We're getting a little slack around here on the blog posting front. In our defense, we've just had our second day of snow in Seattle, and that means civilization has pretty much broken down entirely. We were about to eat our last intern when we realized we wouldn't have anyone who knew how to operate the blog posting tool/machine/software/doohickey. Luckily the intern, bless his little proactive (and tasty) heart, wrote a detailed description of how to use it on the company wiki. Around here, we call that a Career Limiting Move.

Last week, we announced a partnership with VUDU that will bring you the ability to stream thousands of movies straight from the cloud to your PlayStation 3. Today, that announcement becomes reality as the VUDU application launches in the United States on PlayStation Network. VUDU delivers a cinema-quality movie experience in the comfort of your home theater, complete with full 1080p HD with 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus sound, and video on-demand without downloading. No subscription is necessary to browse their library of more than 4,000 HD movies, including many new releases the same day they are released to DVD and Blu-ray. The movies are available on-demand and you only pay for the movies that you watch. Also, when you sign up for a VUDU account, you will receive a $5.99 credit on your account for one free HD rental.

Check out the video walkthrough:

The VUDU app adds to the vast amount of entertainment available through PlayStation Network, including movies and TV shows via Netflix and Hulu Plus as well as live sports with MLB.tv and NHL GameCenter LIVE.

To download the free VUDU app, go to the media category in the PlayStation Store. Once downloaded, the app will appear under the video icon in your XMB. Also – VUDU recently unveiled their new UI, VUDU 2.0, at a recent press event, and if you download the app, it will automatically refresh on your PS3 when it launches next month. VUDU 2.0 will also offer PlayStation Move compatibility for easy to use motion control navigation.
