You might not call it Thanksgiving where you're from, but you'll still be feasting on delicious ghosts this week -- so don't ruin your appetite on just pellets! Oh, and one more thing: You might not know this (if you don't eat a 20-pound turkey once a year), but eating too much Thanksgiving bird can make you really sleepy. Similarly, gobbling up ghosts can have its own ... "side effects."

Bored of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood already?

Wait -- really? You need to get out more ... But if that's not going to happen, at least you'll see new virtual places with the first installment of Brotherhood DLC, memorably titled "Animus Project Update 1.0." With a December 14 release date on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, we can't help but think of the $0 asking price as a Festivus gift from Ubisoft to humanity.

Included in APU1 is a "brand-new" game mode called Advanced Alliance; it's basically Alliance Mode, but harder. If that wasn't enough to sharpen your blade to, how does a new map sound? Mont Saint-Michel isn't just a fancy French name, it's also the name of the new map, "located on a rocky tidal island of Normandy in France." Ubi promises an environment full of "narrow streets, high-perched bell tower and multi-leveled architecture."

Ubisoft Montreal executive producer Sebastien Puel says the DLC is the developer's way of saying "thank you to our fans for making Brotherhood such a huge success its opening week." There's one way of avoiding the precarious announcement of DLC close to a title's release date: Give it away for free!

So, next week's Rock Band DLC will include a Lynyrd Skynyrd track pack. Now, fun fact: Every time Lynyrd Skynyrd was typed in this post, I had to look up how it was spelled, out of some paranoid compulsion that I'd spelled it wrong. I wonder if "Lynyrd Skynyrd" is the music writer's version of the game industry's classic spell-anoia name: EA CEO John R-I-C-C-I-T-I-E-L-L-O.

Accompanying the "Sweet Home Alabama" band, who apparently formed in Florida, are singles from .38 Special and Bad Company. The full DLC track details are posted after the break.

The American PSN recently got a storefront for imported Japanese games, but it's limited entirely to PSOne downloads. Sony is launching an import selection for the Japanese PSN as well, which includes more recent downloadables from the west.

The inaugural offerings on the "Western Game Buyer Selection" label on November 25 will include Castle Crashers for ¥1,500, Comet Crash for ¥1,000, and the PlayStation Mini Young Thor for ¥500. The screenshots sent out by Sony include no Japanese text, so it's likely these will be dropped on PSN untranslated, like the PSOne Imports in North America. We hope for Japan's sake that Sony is as diligent about populating this service as MonkeyPaw Games is here.

Okay, of all the video game franchises out there that could possibly have day-one downloadable content, we think Tron is, by far, the most appropriate. After all, whilst in the neon-tinted world of Tron: Evolution, you yourself are downloadable content. It's almost canonical that the PC, PS3 and 360 versions of the game will include one-time-use codes to unlock a handful of additional multiplayer maps and a character skin modeled after the new film's protagonist, Sam Flynn.

Check out some of the complimentary multiplayer accoutrements in the gallery posted below.

Mark Wahlberg has confirmed in an MTV interview that he expects to star in the Uncharted film. The actor, who also starred in ill-fated film-to-game adaptation Max Payne, says director David O. Russell (who he had previously worked with on Three Kings and The Fighter) plans to start shooting next summer. This, of course, means the geek-approved casting of Nathan Fillion in the role of Nathan Drake is out.

Although Wahlberg never specifically says he'll play the role of Nathan Drake, it was strongly implied by the actor when he said that Russell wants to cast Joe Pesci as his uncle and Robert De Niro as his father. Wahlberg says the movie is not going to be a "watered-down version, that's for sure." After all, with so many actors who can expertly deliver an f-bomb, it would be a shame if the T-rated game doesn't become an R-rated spectacle. Check out the MTV interview after the break.

Elemental's campaign of redemption appears to be working, with sales up 30 percent in October. Speaking with Big Download, Stardock didn't share any specific sales figures, but noted that Impulse purchases are up and retail stores are increasing shipment orders. The company probably got a nice boost during the month by offering the next two game expansions for free to those who purchased the title before All Hallows' Eve.

Stardock has been doing a pretty solid job so far of turning the strategy RPG's "disastrous" launch around. Elemental may have been born prematurely, but with proper oversight from the game's new senior producer, the franchise might just grow up into a respectable member of society.

The virtuous thongs of DeathSpank's sequel will arrive on PC and Mac later this year, EA has announced. DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue will launch on PC November 30, with a Mac release following on December 14 (the original DeathSpank will be released for Mac the same day as ToV -- that's a lot of spanking!). Like the console versions, Thongs of Virtue will cost $14.99.

DeathSpank: ToV comes with two pieces of free DLC at launch: "Snowy Mountain Dungeon" and "Sidekick Tankko: Half-man, half-spider, and all awesome." If you absolutely can't wait for next Tuesday, a minigame on the DeathSpank website ("DeathSpank: Spank This!") offers you a chance to win free stuff. One grand prize winner will get "a squawkin' chicken, a signed DeathSpank poster, a free copy of DeathSpank, and an Intel Core i7-870." All prize winners, actually, will get that squawkin' chicken, which leads us to believe there's a very large squawkin' chicken population at Hothead. That must make it hard to concentrate on programming.

Trine publisher Nobilis has been added to the collection of companies selling their good old games on GOG. Right away, one of its most recognizable franchises has been added to the DRM-free stormfront: Moto Racer -- the only motorcycle racing series developed by Another World's Delphine Software.

The first Moto Racer, offering superbike and motocross events, is available for download now at a price of $5.99. The second and third games will follow "soon."

Along with the Nobilis games, GOG has also released Chaser, a 2003 FPS by Cauldron Ltd, starring an amnesiac trapped on a spaceship and unaware of why he's being pursued by other occupants.

This coming Friday is known in America as Black Friday, the day when millions spend their post-Thanksgiving Day off shopping for Christmas presents (and thus retailers all get to make sure they end the year "in the black"). In a more rebellious circle, it's also known as Buy Nothing Day, an anti-consumerism protest against a culture of spending. And here's one more celebration: Friday will also be known as "Record Store Day," a day to frequent your local record store and keep it alive in the face of the digital music revolution.

The music lovers at Harmonix are on board with that last one: The Rock Band 3 developer is offering free song tokens at participating record stores, and the purchase of any CD or record at those stores will earn you a free download of The Doors' "Roadhouse Blues" to play in Rock Band 3. The deal is only while supplies last, unfortunately -- you'll need an actual card with a code to download the song.

Good luck to everyone who goes out to find one. We'll be enjoying Friday's other celebration, Mongolian Independence Day. Where's our DLC for that, Harmonix? Road House.
