Be sure to finish any games you receive as holiday gifts immediately upon receipt. Capcom is calling for your attention in Fortune City on December 27. That's when the XBLA-exclusive Dead Rising 2 epilogue, Case West, will slide down the virtual chimney and appear under the Xbox Live Marketplace-shaped tree. It's priced at 800 Microsoft Points.

This release date information comes courtesy of Capcom Europe, so we're only absolutely certain it's accurate for Europe. This might be the rare occasion in which release dates differ between that region and North America -- though we doubt it.

You might think that Retro would be tired of the Metroid franchise after doing their work on the Prime outings. I think all these references in Donkey Kong Country Returns prove that the team loves Samus just as much now as they did before! Thanks to Mike for the heads up.

Hello, fellow Tetris enthusiasts! This is Christophe from EA Mobile and we’ve got some really big news. We are launching Tetris on PlayStation Network and it’ll be available to download from the PSN store in very early next year. This version of Tetris boasts 5.1 Dolby Sound, 1080P HD graphics, plus six online and local multiplayer modes. Of course, you can play Marathon mode by yourself in the boldest and brightest graphics ever, but what we’re really excited about are three new PS3-exclusive multiplayer modes that will make this a must-have. I can’t go into much detail, but these new online, real-time multiplayer modes will be more fun and competitive than anything you’ve seen before.

A couple of weeks ago Alexi Pajitnov, the original creator of Tetris, got to try out this new PS3 version and absolutely loved it. And since we know how excited you are, we have a trailer ready to showcase just how awesome this gets. Check it out above! This is going to be the definitive Tetris experience.

It is, without a doubt, an actually good, not disappointing day on the Wii and DSi Shops. It's a Christmas miracle! The very cool iPhone reflex / rhythm game Lilt Line is now on WiiWare, published by Bit. Trip developer Gaijin Games. And Taito's Darius Twin shoots 'em up on Virtual Console.

On DSiWare, Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ, originally a retail DS game, can be downloaded for 800 Points, obviating the need to go to a store and hunt down that somewhat obscure (but fun) shooter.

It's fairly common for retailers to offer store credit to help drive purchases of certain items, but this is why Amazon's taking over the world: If you buy a 160 GB PS3 or a White Wii console, you'll get $75 or $50 (respectively) in Amazon bucks, which you can then use to buy a George Foreman grill.

Mortal Kombat's 2011 reboot will tell consumers to "get over here" in April 2011. That's the latest release window kurrently offered by Warner Bros. Interactive, with Warner Home Video's publicity site listing a more specific April 19, 2011.

To compliment its reveal of Kratos as a playable character in the PS3 version of the game, WB has announced standard, Kollector's and Tournament editions (along with several retailer-specific pre-order incentives, listed after the break).

The Kollector's Edition will include Sub-Zero and Scorpion figurines, a collectible art book, and DLC for "Mortal Kombat Klassic costume skins" and avatar costumes. The Tournament Edition, which will have a limited run of 20,000 copies in North America, will contain the game, DLC and ... a "portable fight stick." 'Cause, you see, if it were a fight log it wouldn't be "portable" -- it's a very necessary adjective.

Wanna hear something crazy? Guillermo del Toro's inSane game project is gonna be a trilogy. Of course, that lengthy proposal, as documented by THQ, will still be bound by reason -- at least, by the reasonable success of the "first chapter in the series," due in 2013. (Remember how that Too Human "trilogy" started ... and stalled?)

"With this new series of video games, I want to take players to a place they have never seen before, where every single action makes them question their own senses of morality and reality," said a confident del Toro as if narrating atop the mysterious and positively creepy teaser (embedded after the break). "THQ and Volition, Inc. are equally excited to make this vision of a completely new game universe into a reality."

Not only excited, THQ is heavily invested in what it's dubbed "an original trilogy of triple-A games." The publisher will retain the intellectual property rights to the inSane games, while del Toro holds the rights to any associated "filmed entertainment" projects. It sounds like our sanity could be tested. A lot.
