A portion of a Nintendo Life interview with Hullbreach...

NL: Are you still planning regular DLC after launch, and if so what sort of content will this be?

HB: There will be vanity DLC, like new ships. Being gamers ourselves, DLC that is required to beat a game already purchased infuriates us; thus, we won't be doing that.

NL: Do you have an estimated release window yet?

HB: There is currently no release window set.

PLANO, Texas (February 25, 2014) - PepsiCo's Frito-Lay North America division and Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI), today announced a promotion that brings fans the ultimate way to get involved in the award-winning Skylanders® franchise. For the first time ever, Frito-Lay and Activision are providing fans with the unique opportunity to choose and name a new hero that will appear in the next Skylanders game slated for release in 2014. In addition to naming honors, the winner will receive a $100,000 scholarship. For more details and official rules, visit www.fritolay.com/skylanders.

"This is the third consecutive year Frito-Lay has partnered with Activision to bring fans a whole new way to experience Skylanders, while bringing added fun to the snack aisle," said Ram Krishnan, vice president of marketing, Frito-Lay. "This time around, we're taking our collaboration to a new level. We can't wait to see all the creative names families come up with."

Between now and March 21, 2014, fans 18 years and older can visit www.fritolay.com/skylanders to select one of three potential heroes they want to see come to life in the next Skylanders game. Once their Skylanders selection is made, contestants then submit a suggested name and a 200-character or less inspiration for the name they chose.

In May, one fan-created name for each of the three potential heroes will be selected by a panel of judges from Activision and Frito-Lay, and announced as finalists. Fans 13 years and older will be invited to vote online for the hero they want to see debuted in the next Skylanders game. Later this year, the winning hero will be revealed and the fan behind the creation of the hero's name will be awarded a $100,000 scholarship. The winning name submission will also become the official name for that Skylanders hero and will appear in a variety of places such as on Skylanders packaging and even in the Skylanders game.

To celebrate the promotion, specially marked Frito-Lay variety packs, available for purchase while supplies last at participating retail stores nationwide, will include coupons for select Skylanders products and details on the entry and voting phases of the promotion. This spring, variety packs will include a $5 off coupon for a Skylanders SWAP Force™ Starter Pack.

Frito-Lay Classic Mix and Flavor Mix 20-count variety packs contain America's favorite snacks in convenient one-ounce servings: including Lay's potato chips, SunChips multigrain snacks, Doritos tortilla chips, Cheetos cheese flavored snacks and Fritos corn chips. To unleash excitement at snack time, Frito-Lay and Skylanders join forces to help families create fun and special family moments.

I’ve gotten your emails, your tear-stained letters, your carrier pigeons, and the erstwhile smoke signal. We’ve read them, and we — finally — can fully and officially reply to them with the best kind of confirmation ever: ATLUS is bringing three new Persona games to the PlayStation family starting in fall of 2014.

“But John,” you’ll ask, “what are these new Persona games of which you speak?” Well, I’m glad you asked that, illusory writing device! Let’s just cut right to the quick. Persona 5 is coming. In 2015. And will be the first Persona RPG developed for the PlayStation 3 system. That’s about all we know about the game, because the plot, characters, and everything about it is being kept under wraps. The one thing we do know is that series director Katsura Hashino hinted that the storyline will be about throwing off the chains of oppression to find one’s true self. But how that theme is addressed in Persona 5? We have no idea.

Next up, we have the sequel to Persona 4 Arena – the hit fighting game for PS3. The number “2″ isn’t powerful enough for all the awesome new content in this game, so we’re calling it Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. What does Ultimax entail? A brand new story mode that continues the plot of the original, new fighting modes, the inclusion of classic Persona 3 characters Junpei Iori and Yukari Takeba. Oh, and new to the series is the mysterious, scarred, red-headed Sho Minazuki. P4AU will be on PS3, coming in fall 2014.

Finally, we have Persona 4: Dancing All Night. This is a rhythm action game for PS Vita, with 30 brand new tracks/remixes showing off the Persona Sound. It’s also being made in collaboration with Dingo, the development brainchild behind Hatsune Miku: Project Diva. Does that sound crazy to you? Well hold on to your britches, because it stars the cast from Persona 4 who are investigating the disappearance of Rise’s pop group juniors, Kanamin Kitchen.

12760467934_a039d5b1a4_z.jpg

They disappear to a mysterious place called the Midnight Stage, and surprise surprise, combat doesn’t work there the same way it did in the Midnight Channel (that’s the game world from Persona 4). No, on the Midnight Stage, the fighting is done with dance moves, and will boogie its way to PS Vita in 2015.

I know that’s not a lot of info to go on, but we’re super excited to bring this latest crop of Persona games to the North American PlayStation family! Stay tuned to PlayStation.Blog in the coming months for news about these titles!

Spielberg made me afraid to go into the water, Hitchcock made me afraid to stand underneath the water and now I’m worried that Caffeine is going to make me afraid to add delicious coffee to the water. It’s a terrible state of affairs when a man can’t swim, wash or stay awake and focused for more than ten minutes, but that is the future I face. Caffeine has an odd plot: “You awaken aboard a caffeine mining space station to find yourself, a young boy seemingly all alone. The only thing you know for sure? Something bad has transpired here…” I’ve been to many abandoned space stations and it’s inevitable that bad things have either happened or are about to happen. But a caffeine mining station? That’s new. The trailer is a masterclass of audio design and reminds me of Moon’s environmental excellence.

IRVINE, Calif. -- Feb. 25, 2014 -- I am thou. Thou art I. From the sea of our souls come new games in the Persona series. That's right, the time has come for the Velvet Room to open once again, so dust off those Social Links and keep an eye out for blue butterflies - ATLUS' acclaimed Persona series is returning to North America with completely new games for this year and beyond.

"The Persona series is one of the most progressive, mature role playing game franchises in the world, and a cornerstone of what makes ATLUS a great video game company," said Naoto Hiraoka, president and CEO, Index Digital Media, Inc. "The latest ventures into the worlds of Persona 3 and 4 give new perspective and depth to some of gaming's most incredible characters, and the new games have a wide enough breadth to be enthralling for newcomers to the series."

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth (Fall 2014) -- You got Persona in my Etrian! You got Etrian in my Persona! Well, you're right on both counts. Persona Q is a cross-over for the Nintendo 3DS™ system that brings Persona 3 and 4 characters to the gameplay style of Etrian Odyssey. It also marks the first time the Persona franchise will be available on a Nintendo system.

Characters from Persona 3 and 4 have been given a complete visual overhaul to match the Etrian style and plunged into an alternate world resembling Yasogami High School. Legend has it that listening to the end of the bell chimes of Yasogami High's clock tower causes people to die, and this time the bell tolls for the Investigation Team and the SEES. Trapped in an other-world filled with Shadows, the protagonists from Persona 3 and Persona 4 each have different events to follow, allowing the player to choose and experience two different plotlines. As both groups seek a way out of the labyrinth, they will run in to two new characters, Rei and Zen, who may hold the secret to this new mystery.
