I don’t really know what to make of Fearless Fantasy. It seems extremely goofy and weird, and I like both those things, but oh goodness what even is it? Let’s try breaking it down: the role-player is being published by No Time To Explain creator tinyBuild, and it’s turn-based in a very JRPG way. Except not at all, because you don’t just choose an option and watch your party play patty cake with swords until the next round. Each attack involves copious mouse gestures, which I initially took to mean you had to pretend to be a rodent in front of a camera but now realize we’re talking about computers because we’re always talking about computers. Silly me. Trailer below.

Irrational has (mostly) sunk beneath the gaming industry’s ever-turbulent waves, but its spirit lives on. And by that, I mean the rather tumultuous work environment gave birth to one last piece of DLC before massive (and by many accounts, inevitable) layoffs struck. BioShock Infinite: Burial At Sea Episode One was a mixed bag, but Episode Two has a shot at going out on a high note. There are plenty of solid ingredients in place: we’re back in Rapture, we get to play as Elizabeth, and apparently we can entirely avoid killing anyone if we want to. 1998 mode is a bonus option with a heavy emphasis on stealth, and if some referential fake box art is to be believed, it’s rather heavily influenced by the original Thief.

Sleepwalking puzzler Back to Bed is back on track thanks to assistance from Danish investment firm Capnova. The investment prompted the team of students from the Danish National Academy of Digital Interactive Entertainment (DADIU) to form an official studio now known as Bedtime Digital Games.

Capnova's history of video game investments include Playdead's Limbo, PressPlay's Max and the Magic Marker and Full Control's digital adaptation of Space Hulk for iPad. Bedtime Digital Games Project Manager Klaus Pederson told Polygon that the funding from Capnova will make a second game from the developer possible.

Back to Bed was scheduled to arrive in late December 2013 before being pushed back during the developer's restructuring. Players guide a sleepwalker through dreamlike, 3D puzzle-platforming environments in the game, which will come to PC, Mac, Linux , iOS, Android and Ouya. The developer earned $13,312 on Kickstarter in March 2013 to initially fund the game. [Image: Bedtime Digital Games]

TOO MANY TWOS IN THAT HEADLINE. 2 Episode 2 Furious. Live Free (Walking) Die Epi2odic. I don’t know anymore. I’m having a strange day. But anyway, The Walking Dead Season Two Episode Two has been trailerfied, and it’s looking as brooding and dramatic as ever. I see potential for plot twists, revelations, and the very real possibility that the walkingest dead of all… is man. I am interested to see where this one goes, especially given that it seems to be addressing some of my concerns after season two’s slightly lukewarm first episode. Watch below, but beware of minor spoilers.

As you now know, Nintendo is shutting down Wii/DS online game servers in the not-too-distant future. Seems that a few people are bugged by this, as a petition to keep the servers online has started. You can join in on the petition right here if you feel compelled to do so.

This talk brings up an interesting idea as to why these games are being taken online. Some people are finding that the service ending might have something to do with GameSpy being purchased by GLU Mobile back in Aug. 2012. GameSpy provided middleware for Wii/DS games when it came to online. Multiple games have seen their online services yanked due to the GameSpy issue, and while it's taken awhile for Wii/DS games to see this service ending, that might have something to do with Nintendo's own contracts. Whatever the reasoning, we know for sure that service is ending.

Thanks to krzysio87 and Peenbbb2 for the heads up!

Publisher Deep Silver has begun beta testing the free-to-play Dead Island: Epidemic, and it needs your help putting the zombies through their shambling paces.

As its name would suggest, Dead Island: Epidemic is a spin-off of Techland's Dead Island franchise. Instead of a first-person action game, Epidemic drops players into a multiplayer online battle arena (think: League of Legends) populated by the same walking corpses that make up the supporting cast of the core Dead Island series. Cooperative teamwork is key to surviving the undying hordes, but when your teammates fail you, you can also rely on over-the-top DIY weaponry, another hallmark of the Dead Island games.

Gaining access to the closed beta is as simple as visiting the game's website and filling out a quick registration form. Those who participate in the beta test will be able to earn "exclusive in-game items and rewards" that will carry over into the eventual retail incarnation of Dead Island: Epidemic. Gaming peripheral maker Razer has added a new feature to its GameBooster software suite that allows users to store their PC game saves in the cloud, according to IGN.

While still in beta, Razer's Save Game Manager supports "over 2,000 existing PC titles," while also allowing players to manually add other games to the cloud storage queue. Currently, saves are stored to a user's Dropbox folder, though Razer hopes to expand the service to include other cloud-based storage solutions in the near future. In addition, Save Game Manager can upload PC settings to the cloud for easy access in the future.

Those interested in putting Save Game Manager through its paces can download the GameBooster software suite, free of charge, from Razer's website. Keep in mind, this is beta software, so if something goes wrong and you lose a save, you'll have no recourse. As with all important data, multiple backups are your only safe bet. [Image: Razer]
