Castle Crashers developer The Behemoth announced that its co-op platformer BattleBlock Theater is coming to PC platforms via Steam this year.

The PC version of BattleBlock Theater boasts a number of new features not seen in its initial Xbox Live Arcade release, including weapon switching, new enemy types, and online item-trading with Steam Inventory. The port will also feature Steam Workshop integration, allowing players to build their own custom levels and share them with friends.

Calculords for iOS is incredibly nerdy — and wonderfully so. It's a lane-based strategy game. It's a collectible card game. It makes the player actively participate in math. There are few ways it could be nerdier — I have compiled a list. Read more...

Strategy games are seductive time sinks. Who has the time to possibly tinker with all those units? Who can spare the hours to toil in turn-based combat only to finally lose in a crushing, humiliating defeat? Start up one little game of XCOM, get a squad going, and eight hours can disappear out from under you faster than you can say, "Overwatch!"

Julian Gollop (@Julian_Gollop) is one of the men behind all those lost hours. The creator of XCOM, Laser Squad, Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars and many, many others, Gollop has spent thirty years designing tactics games that test both wits and nerve. Chaos Reborn, his latest game, brings Gollop back to his roots; it's a reimagining of his 1985 ZX Spectrum game Chaos: The Battle of Wizards. Unlike XCOM and Shadow Wars, Chaos Reborn pits player against player in tactical standoffs that are downright swift. The designer joins Alexander Sliwinski (@Sliwinski) and Anthony John Agnello (@ajohnagnello) on Joystiq Streams for a few friendly matches in the prototype version of the game.

Joystiq Streams goes live on the Joystiq Twitch channel at 4PM EST so come down and bring your questions to Mr. Gollop himself. The stream archive will be available after 5PM EST and you can always catch Joystiq Streams at 4PM EST every Tuesday and Thursday. A Kickstarter campaign to fund Chaos Reborn will begin on March 14. What is the story with the Jerry’s Place virtual reality project? That’s not the lead-in to a Jerry Seinfeld-style joke, but an opportunity to explain that Greg Miller has re-created Jerry’s apartment from the sitcom Seinfeld for the Oculus Rift. It’s your opportunity to sit at home, alone at your desk, and take part in The Contest. I lose every time. … [visit site to read more]

On the Sega CD's Special Edition release, by pausing the game and entering a code it's possible to unlock a special head for Jim. It seems to be Donkey Kong with an arrow through his head. This was a stab at Donkey Kong Country, as the game became wildly popular and overshadowed the release of Earthworm Jim.

It's been awhile since we've heard anything about Turtle Tale, but just today Saturnine Games has said they're aiming for a Spring release. This can happen as long as the title makes it through Nintendo's submission process without any hiccups.

Clementine is holed up with two factions of angry, desperate survivors. One group cowers on the floor, while the second flashes their guns and makes an example of a rival survivor with two quick, non-lethal snaps. Clementine watches the torment from a raised landing, where she's hiding with two allies who argue about their next move. They reach an impasse and turn to Clementine for advice.

Let's get that straight: Two adults, who have weathered the zombie epidemic for more than a year, pause in their argument about a serious, life-or-death situation to take tips from the 11-year-old girl. An 11-year-old-girl that they would have easily shot two weeks ago. She still has pigtails.

She also has good advice. "A House Divided," the second episode of The Walking Dead's second season, presents Clementine as a complete, independent character for the first time. Though she is surrounded by people - mostly adults - she doesn't answer to any of them, and she doesn't depend on any one person for survival. She can hold her own and she has demonstrated her skills to her new companions. They trust her, and she trusts herself.

We have no idea how Amazon allots preorders for their games, but it must have something to do with demand. As of right now, Mario Kart 8 can no longer be preordered via Amazon. We're guessing Amazon has a small figure in mind for the game for now, until Nintendo can come through with a clearer picture. I'm sure preorders will open up again fairly soon.

Hackers are such an interesting group. They'll tackle the strangest projects, including the one you see above. Someone has given Rygar on the NES a God of War makeover. The gameplay and style certainly fits God of War, I'll give them that!
