METAL GEAR SOLID TEH NOVEL!!

My mom and I were driving around town, admiring our freshly pedicured toes (I had a bad day, got most of my hair cut off, which my dad absolutely loved, and I got really teary practically embarrassed the absolute shit out of me because the stupid hair ladies thought I was crying 'cause I got my hair cut T_T Anyway let's reraill this). So my mom asked me if I had my borders gift card with me, and I did, but we couldn't find a borders. But we found a Barne's and Noble's book store and a nearly shredded gift card with $15 on it :3 So I walked in, looked into the scary sci-fi secion (I hate being there because it makes me ook like a nerd, and it didn't help that my "purse" is a mini backpack bulging with my DS and Ipod stuff). And sitting out on the self was Metal Gear Solid Very Happy

So I'm reading it, but I'm only on chapter 9, but I ADORE THIS BOOK! It's similar to the book my mom wanted me to read (which I refused at the first chapter which contained a great deal of swear words), but better. I'm a bit confused about the story, because I've never played a Metal Gear game, but I'm understanding enough Razz Have any of you guys read it?

Why would you refuse a book just because of swearing? >_>

Because I really don't like books where every other sentence is "F this, F that, F you, you Fing F!" I can take light swearing and pg-13 themes (as long as it's not too sexualy descriptive), but I've always believed swearing was a stupid thing to do. If you say crag because your stubbed your toe, but then your mom dies the next day and you say crag, you've just compared your mom dieing to stubbing your toe. Does that make sense? Basically, if you use a word too much, it doesn't mean anything anymore.

Its a good book, but it epicly fails sometimes on descriptions, and on diolouge.

And it was missing the greatest quote ever
Ocelot: I love to reload during a battle! There's nothing like the feeling of slamming a long silver bullet into a well greased chamber

Swear words are only swear words because society has labeled them as such. Take the labels away (which won't be happening any time soon) and they are just normal words.

re-rail:

Could you post the complete title of the book? Perhaps a picture of it? I'd like to know what to look for. I'm interested in reading this.

That is awesome. I just purchased the Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection...might need to pick it up. Feels like a movie, so I might need to compare the movie to the book, you know? ^^

Wonder how Psycho Mantis works in that without his masterful file-reading and HIDEO powers.
