Iris sniffled and continued crying.

[Black Yoshi]

Black continued running around the Hall, making preparations to defend the oncoming attack... sending the Rangers to the towers, the Warriors, Paragons, and Dervishes to the gates, and spreading the Casters out throughout the inside of the gates.

Meanwhile, Violet had located Iris and was attempting to comfort her.

Come on Iris... tell me what's wrong.

M-Mommy and Daddy are in trouble b-b-because of us... T_T

They were accused unnder false pretenses. Personally, I just think Balthazar was getting scared of losing his position as God of Fire to Black's growing command of it, and Grenth is in it for the souls.

On a hillside not far from the Guild Hall, Balthazar and Grenth emerged out of nowhere in a brilliant flash of light, along with their armies of Eternals, Reapers, and various other terrifying-looking beasts in the service of Death and War.

We charge in one hour.

Iris looked at the last few crumbs of her bean cake.

"...Would it be better if we got turned into other things? Like the Eternals?"

[Black Yoshi]

It doesn't matter at this point. The best thing to do is to stay out of sight and wait until the other Gods get wind of Balthazar and Grenth's actions.

"O-Okay.

...Do you think Balthazar would really make Rouge an Eternal Elementalist, though?"

[Black Yoshi]

She has the tenacity to... it's possible.

"Oh. She'll be happy, then. She said that's what she wanted."

Genesis sat on the hill, polishing his sword. Hey, maybe the shininess will distract someone.

They aren't going to take us away. Dad promised us that.

Balthazar and Grenth led the teeming army to the hill just opposite that of where the Brotherhood of Yoshis Guild Hall sat. The assorted soldiers began to spread out and fall into formation, Balthazar shouting orders from the frontlines.

Gaia was standing at the front gate, her face a grim mask.

"Balthazar, forgive me."

"At least Lyssa isn't here to give me a scolding...Heh."

[Black Yoshi]

Finally, the armies of Grenth and Balthazar had arranged into formation. At the very front of the masses of troops stood Grenth and Balthazar. Grenth clutched both of his skeletal hands, causing shadowy mist to pour from them, and Balthazar drew his enormous Greatsword, which burst into towering flames.

CHAAAAARGE!

Like a living tide, the various Eternals, Reapers, and other entities roared and broke into a mad dash, following behind the Gods of War and Death as they poured over the hill into view of the Hall. Immediately after the army had passed through, a strange assortment of circles around the entire area lit up a bright purple, washing over all of the armies before fading away. Now, Black appeared ontop of the front wall facing the oncoming army.

"They've been bound to this world! No longer do they retain the invunerability of their home realms. Brothers, sisters, friends... you have my blessing. Now, let us show what the Brotherhood of Yoshis is made of!"

Gaia started to lunge at an Eternal, but her face contorted in pain, before she withdrew and instead crossed swords with a Reaper.

Flare covered her back, darting around the bulkier-armored warriors of Balthazar and putting her speed to an advantage.

Koga hung back inside of the gates, either tending to soldiers who limped back in pain, or sending healing spells out to their allies in the midst of the bloodshed.
