All right, you've probably heard me use the terms "Them" (with a capital T, always), "Test Reality" (the Reality my characters in the plot are from), and "Real People". But, problem is, you also probably have no idea what I'm talking about. So! Allow me to explain.

First off, we have Them. They are supposedly superior beings, even more so than the mysterious people beyond the 4th Wall. While they're immortal, have the ability to contact Real People via their subconscious, and have absolute control over the Test Reality, they have no power beyond that. They aren't gods; they can't make people do things, they can't blow up Entirety with a snap of their fingers, they can't make things appear from nothing...all they really do is watch, constantly observing.

To become one of them, one must exhibit qualities similar to those needed to obtain an Oress. Upon their death, They may allow said person with said qualities to become one of Them.

Each Reality has one of Them who watches them most closely; with the exception of the Test Reality and the Reality in which digibutter exists.

The Test Reality used to be governed by one of Them; but They quit (They wanted to see how the Test Reality would function without Them) and took up residence in the subconscious of a Real Person; Fray. This one of Them is only known as "Her".

Upon Her disappearance, an empty position to become one of Them opened, and so the chaos began.

While Umbra and Verity were the main candidates for becoming one of Them, others have made an attempt...but they were only temporary competition.

The Test Reality is a Reality They managed to create in which They have complete control. All of my characters in the Oress Plot (aside from Tayl and Bunny) are from this odd Reality.

This Reality was created for the sole purpose of creating an environment where they could test Their theories on how people react to certain situations. These people that were tested on became known as Real People.

There are two types of people, Real and Unreal.

Real people are people who actually exist and are capable of having souls, becoming one of Them, subconscious action, and so on. Real people are plentiful in most Realities, in fact, there's ONLY Real people in some Realities. However, in the Test Reality, there are less than 50 of them, out of the billions that populate the planet that the Reality supposedly exists in.

Unreal people, on the other hand, don't actually exist. You can hear them, talk to them, touch them...it's very easy to believe they're actually there. But they're not; they're merely complex illusions that can be created by Them, and a few others (such as Soleil of Halyn's Alliance, who used her odd power to make herself a celebrity). The Test Reality is full of Unreal people, who only exist to make the Real people think that, well, everything is Real.

So hold up, the Sola Oress would be useless against the Unreal, in case its possessor were forced to fight an Unreal Person?

Well, Sola's abilities aren't limited to just taking souls, so it wouldn't be completely useless.

But, yes, Unreal people lack souls. That's why you'd never see one of 'em in an afterlife. Unless They were playing mind games with you.

Did I mention that They enjoy playing mind games with people, slowly eating away at their sanity until the day they die? Because They do. A lot.

You'll definitely see a lot of mind *crag* being caused by Them in the future of the Plot. After all, screwing with people's brains is my favorite thing to do. (:
