I just wrote this today during Computer Apps, so it's really rushed through and far from the best of my work. But I figured that I had to hurry up and write one of these before I forget.
The section after the + is an extra part. The conversation between Niya and Cel was going to be the main point of the story, but I decided against it. That's a story for another day (plus I was too lazy to think about what the conversation would revolve around lolol).
~
Cel always hated being lonely.
By now, she was the only one left in Castle Oress (which was more of a mansion than anything, but calling it a castle was so much more fun). Yep, everyone else was either joined up with some other alliance, they were dead, or they were going to be dead. It wouldn’t be long before this Reality was completely empty. It was really a sad thought. An empty Reality…not a single Real soul wandering it. The thought of it sent a chill up Cel’s spine. It was like trying to imagine what nothingness looked like.
But Cel wasn’t lonely all of the time. Sometimes Bunny would drop by; eat some cheez burgers, strike up a conversation…you know, for a rabbit, he sure knew a lot. Cel was pretty sure that Bunny wasn’t even an actual bunny at this point. Maybe he was one of Them. Like a messenger or something. It certainly wouldn’t be surprising. He knew everything about everyone, which was actually somewhat disturbing. But Bunny was Bunny. You just couldn’t question him. There was something about that rabbit that everyone loved. Even Verity.
That’s aside the point, though.
Cel was idly wandering the halls. There was nothing else to do, really. The mansion was a huge place, sure. It had everything. Except people. There was no one to talk to, no one to interact with, and it was driving her insane. And she couldn’t leave, either, because beyond the doors laid a world where she wouldn’t last a split second. Of course, either way she was doomed. Someone was bound to sneak into the Castle and kill her. But Cel honestly wouldn’t mind being dead right now. She’d give anything to get out of this sick, twisted game; even her life.
Yet, she also had this nagging feeling that she still had to do something. But what? Cel highly doubted that anyone could accomplish anything at this rate. The only thing left that she could really do was die. And that was it. Cel really wasn’t the kind of girl who could put up a fight. Despite the fact that she had been the leader of the Oress Holders, the sole person they could look up to while the rest of the world around them was falling apart, she didn’t even like to issue orders. Cel could hardly recall why she was picked as leader in the first place. If it wasn’t for that dream…that one single dream…she wouldn’t be in this mess. Cel wasn’t meant to be a leader. Because when she was a leader, things like this happened. But she was confident it would all be over soon. Then she could finally get some peace.
+
Cel was snapped out of her cogitation-induced trance by the sound of the doorbell. That was funny. No one ever used the doorbell these days, not even Bunny (he preferred dramatically crashing through the windows). Her mind was telling her not to go open the door for someone who could very well be her killer. She didn’t feel like listening to her mind. So, she wandered over to the front door and opened it without hesitation.
At the door was a somewhat familiar figure. It was Saniya, usually referred to as Niya. The two didn’t know each other very well, but Cel knew Niya well enough to know that she wasn’t going to pull out a knife and stab her in the back. So much for the whole killer-at-the-door thing.
“Oh, Niya. I was expecting Bunny. What on Earth are you doing here?”
“Ever hear the saying ‘Ignorance is Bliss’? I’m afraid that saying applies here.”
“Doesn’t sound like you’re bringing good news, then.”
“I never do.”
“Touché.”

Next one will be less horrible, hopefully. ):
Unless I change my mind; the next Fragment will be the first (and likely only) one to take place in The Bitlands. |

WELL TOO BAD YOU'RE WAITING ANYWAYS
Actually, I have early release on Friday and no school on Monday, so I'll probably get the chance to write at least one more story this weekend.
I have a few Fragments planned out already. One is a Vitara & Neren centric, then I have two Umbra centrics planned, a Fray & Umbra centric, and a Fray & Seraye (AKA the shop owner of the little doll shop) centric. I have a lot of other ideas, but these ones are the most developed. Personally, my favorite ideas are the two Fray centrics, but since Fray is very new to the Bitlands, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to go into her background just yet (even though her Fragments are generally comic relief). |
