While the explosives and bullets from RL-3's barrage simply exploded or melted before coming into contact with Ignis, the lasers and plasma hit their mark. Zetta's Jade Sword - or at least the Jade core - also hit, impaling Ignis through the chest. For a moment, Ignis went completely silent and fell down on both knees. However... he did not remain silent for long. Maddened laughter soon filled the underground cavern, and Ignis slowly reached into his pockets and drew out the Fyel Oress.
On the verge of death against impossible odds. This should do nicely. Fyel... time to show me what you can really do! Fyel Oress - Torment's Requiem!
The amount of energy detectable on Ignis suddenly dropped to nothing as a thick blanket of energy erupted around Ignis, completely hiding him from view. Genesis would probably recognize this from the time in the Realm of Torment... as well as what followed. |

Seeing how Ignis was still in the midst of the cloud of purple flames, he did not move when the ground began to give way beneath him. As he began to sink into the sludge, the flames all at once condensed inward, flowing into Ignis' body as if in a vacuum... the falling amp would be thrown off course, as well. When it all had condensed, Ignis was in view once more... only, now he looked more like some sort of demon. Every feature down to his eyes glowed with an eerie violet light, and the expression on his face looked nothing short of terrifying. With a single eruption of purple flames, Ignis came soaring out of the sludge and onto another nearby mesa.
This power... oh yes, I believe it will suffice! |

RL-3 and the robots floated out of their cover.
"Ten-hut! Ready?! Aim! Fire! This Commie will never take our land!"
And at that, RL-3, the Sentry Bot, the Protectrons, the Robobrains and the two other Mister Gusties began to fire whatever they got at the demon. |
