In all honesty, the necroposting rule is quite ridiculous. It really isn't harming anything, and sometimes it's just better to bump an inactive thread with a boatload of information than just scrapping it (My 'Final Fantasy XIII News Thread', for example.) With this in mind, I believe the necroposting rule should be re-worked. It's a petty offense, and that's probably giving it far more credit than it deserves.
However, pointlessly necroposting isn't something that we should welcome; with this case, I don't think I can give the same defense I would for other examples of necroposting. |

If it's pointless necroposting then chances are that it can be striked for another valid reason that isn't necroposting. |
