TItle says almost all of it, but this is just a remake I'm doing with Scratch.

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Bob_the_Lumberjack/556727

I made Gold's sprites and the sprites for the headbutt trees on my own. I think it's pretty good for a Scratch game.

Also, before you comment on it, read the project's description on Scratch, because I don't want to hear shit about stuff I already know.

"Several Java Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error"
Nice.
Also I really have to question why you would remake a game that isn't yours, especially when said game is already being remade and the result will probably be way better than yours. And while I can't judge the quality because I can't play it, you should still stop using Scratch. Go download Game Maker or RPG Maker or Multimedia Fusion or whatever. ФֻФ

Many other people make World 1-1 of SMB as a test of their physics engine, and if it's an FPS-like game you better believe it gets released publicly.
Anyway, after moving around either after a certain time or for a specific amount of steps, Gold just slides up and down when you try to enter any input.

And when he walks normally, he fidgets to face the left side of the screen just before facing where you're going.
Work out those problems in your next attempt to fix it up, and it's shaping up to be an epic project.

I know, I'm trying to work those problems out, but it's tough.

Yes, but remaking an entire game is a monstrous task that would be way beyond just a simple test. Why not use your time making something uniquely your own? ФֻФ

Because it's fun. What other reason do we need?

It's okay, but making an entire game, especially one as complex as Pokemon... is going to be simply impossible. Things to take into consideration:

There are 251 Pokemon, each with their own unique set of possible moves.

There are weaknesses and resistances for every type.

Each type of ball has its own catch rate/special feature.

There are hundreds of items.

The shop system exists.

Battles.

You will not get this done in almost any game maker, let alone Scratch...

I actually have all the scripts thought out and planned. I don't know about game maker, but it's possible in Scratch. I'm still going to flesh this out as much as possible, no matter how long it takes.

There's going to be a ton of sprites, but way more costumes. For the Pokιmon themselves, I'm going to have a variable, and for each variable number, I'm going to have the corresponding Pokιmon. It would take like an hour to type up my whole plan, so I won't, but I know what to do. I'm a Scratch master.

I'll trust you... for now... >_>

All I wanna see is a legit Pokemon experience in the end.

Oh, we probably would have lost contact by the end. It's going to take a year at least, and that would be if I didn't have school. It's probably going to be 5 years or so by the time I'm finished.

You just watch. I WILL. I have all the scripts planned, and tested. I haven't implements then yet, but every single one of them works.

And no, if Scratch were going to stay the way it is right now, I wouldn't, but they're coming out with a new version of Scratch that has text features that work PERFECTLY with Pokιmon. Also, the new version will have online multiplayer, so in that way, I can make the trading.
