Because that was in the period where I wasn't working on anything of my own and in which I welcome a structured activity such as creating a game.

If you can show me a partial working engine, hell just a character moving left and right is good enough, I will continue making sprites for this.

Yeah, it has to either be 8-bit, or have a MIDI version.
