Shadow stood at the doorway to Snowpoint Temple. "So this is what it looks like on the inside..." It was a dark night. The guard who usually stood at the front of the temple was missing. Shadow decided to take a quick look inside. He walked further into the temple, armed with only one Pokemon.

As Sneasel opened the front door, he saw his owner's mother sitting n the couch. "Hey... where's Jon?", he said. "Um, I think you need to know something... Jon left. He said something about some grand adventure with Pokemon..." "Well, why didn't he take me?" Sneasel wondered. "I don't know... he said he wanted an "actual Pokemon", or something like that." "Well... if he's just going to leave like that, then so will I! Mrs. B, I am now a Pokemon trainer!" Sneasel announced, walking out the door. "Yeah, good luck with that," she said, not really paying attention.

Sandslash jumped off the porch, and went back over to his stroll in the snowy streets. "I might as well go back to Sandpoint, I hate this place with all of my guts." There was a trashcan in his way, he didn't go around it, but he kicked it, releasing trash, and it caught the attention of a Rattata, and a few others.
He was just about to take out a small white gem from his backpack when he saw a very familiar Sneasel, and a slightly less familiar looking Ghastly on the white, cold sidewalks.

"...Dude, Sneasel, is that you?"

He had about a billion things to talk about his home life, or the current situation, but he realised it was only good to talk about the most important thing for the time...He was going to be a trainer.

"I just have one thing to tell you, man. I'm going to catch Pokemon just like my trainer, Jack is, right now."

"Well, I can't believe it! Now getting a starter here, for me, is going to be torture." He was reminded about this by a swift breeze passing by, this made Sandslash shiver.

As the two talked two Dark Balls appeared they had Vaati's name on them two pokemon could be heard from the balls a Shellder and a Torchic.
