Do you think Nintendo will ever expand their paper Mario series to other Nintendo Games, such as Zelda and Metroid? I think it would be pretty cool to play Paper Metroid or Paper Zelda. Discuss....

Wind Waker comes pretty close to a Paper Zelda.

And you have the nerve to call yourself a bigger Metroid fan than me...

In all honesty, though, the only one I could really see working is a Paper Zelda, and that's stretching it, to be honest. Maybe a Paper Kirby...

While the possibilities are indeed endless. Nintendo probably doesn't want to be seen as a company that uses an idea to make all of their franchises not unique. Nintendo is all about innovation these days, and taking a fun graphic style that added quirk to a series to all other series is unoriginal. Besides, I play games like Metroid for the awesome 1st person action and awesome 3D graphics, not quirky, cute graphics. That would remove a lot of the cool!

That being said, Paper Kirby would be neat.

The paper of the Kirby seems the only logical ending!

Zelda with cuteness was full of the hateness of many, despite the gameplay of goodness!

Kirby has the same whimsical world suited for a Paper game. An RPG where you can fly wherever and consume whoever would be awesome.

They could recreate Zelda 2 with a Wind-Waker art style, and you would basically end up with a Paper Zelda.

Metroid? "Samus, while following a distant distress call, got caught in a strange dimensional portal. When she regains consciousness, she realizes that the world is flat!" umm... no.

Paper Kirby would work fine.
Paper Zelda would work if it had the same gameplay Link's Adventure has. Otherwize it would look like any 2D Zelda.
Paper Metroid wouldn't work in any way.
Paper Wario(in Wario Land style) could work if done right.
Paper DK could work if done right. I dunno the style though.

My guess is that Nintendo wouldn't make another Paper franchise.
But I'd love to see a Paper Smash Bros(Smash Bros characters in Paper form). It would be cool.

Aren't people forgetting... Yoshi?

A Paper Yoshi would be perfect, since the games already have a storybook style to them. You could get different babies as partners, like in YIDS, and they'd have skills in the field and battle.

I think we are all forgetting about a certain story about the greatest hero in the Mario universe. One that has saved Mario's life before. A hero that is clad in an eye-pleasing green. That lovable guy who manages to be a great source of comic relief in more than one Paper Mario game. The one... The only...

Yoshi games aren't paper, but they are drawn in crayon. Works the same for me.

I have always wanted that see? Maybe they could release something like that on the Virtual Console in an episodic fashion.
