Morton stood in the doorway when his talkative nature got the better of him, thus alerting E. Gadd to the presence of at least one intruder.

"There are already things which protect shins from injury - they're called 'shin-guards'. As for tables, they can be made of softer materials, but this would cause problems with sturdiness and their effectiveness as support for various objects. You talk to yourself... I think you're crazy! Did you know you were crazy? You probably did, because you talk to yourself."

"Aww, I wish my eyes were used to this darkness stuff" Whispered Larry, sneaking upstairs. He didn't get so used to the dark conditions of Darkland, unlike his older siblings, and the only one younger. He stayed in his land as much as possible, making sure the citizens made the forests and farms as bright as possible. "Now, were in this laboratory could that secret super Mega-Grow be?"

E. Gadd jumped a mile at the sound of the voice, fumbling for a flashlight. "W-Who's there?!" he yelped.

Jr. clapped a claw to his forehead, then swatted his brother on the shoulder. "MORON," he hissed. "You totally just gave us away!"

Morton frowned. He didn't mean to give away the fact that they were here. He just couldn't help it!

Jr. bit his lip as he noticed a beam of light bobbing towards them. Gadd was coming!
Putting a claw to his mouth and making a barely audible 'shushing' noise, he motioned for his brothers to follow, backing behind a corner. They could still jump the scientist when he got close enough...

Morton was wondering what Larry was doing here. He (Morton) and Junior came here alone. But before he could ask, Junior shushed him.

The Koopaling backed up against the wall and waited for Gadd to get closer.

Gadd reached the top of the stairs- and as if on cue, the flashlight died out.
"Oh..." he groaned, shaking it futilely. It flickered for a moment, then went dark again-
But not before he had caught a flash of wicked-looking eyes.
"Wh-"

"BANZAI!" Morton shouted as he lunged at the crazy old koot. He attempted to pin the old man down to the floor with his claws on Gadd's forearms.

Gadd went to cry out, but the first attacker had covered his mouth with a rough, scaly hand. Another intruder slammed into him almost instantly, and he fell back, struggling against the harsh claws that had him pinned to the ground.

Larry tried his best to leap from under a table then get out of the lab, it seemed more like by jumping out the window.

"Wait, you guys held Gadd down." Said a smiling Larry. "I didn't expect you to come here, I was finding the perfect medicine for Piranha Plants so Mario could stay out of Vine Land!
