The old games like Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 64 came before people started worrying about graphics, and hence, have great gameplay, and are by far better.

That's like saying developers don't improve overtime from experience.

I mean look at the original Megaman, now look at Gears of War. Yeah, I know.

M'aiq doesn't understand why people hype up GoW so much...

Because it reinvented the first person shooter with it's use of the cover mechanic and provided an all new playing experience to a genre slowly filling up with carbon copies.

Third Person Shooter, actually. The story was unentertaining*, and the online play is horrid with the host-advantages.

*You spend half the game looking for something that doesn't even work, and it turns out that the thing generic soldier tosses into a bottomless pit at the beginning held the answer to everything.

GoW isn't about he story. And yeah, a lot of online games have bad multiplayer. But the multiplayer is good at times. The point is though that it used level design to amplify using cover efficiently to make it a tactical experience as much as an action oriented one.

Host advantages are unbearable alot of the times. M'aiq just doesn't understand why people hype it up as much as they do. All he saw during the Halo 3 beta were threads like "GoW iz tha bestz gaem".

In m'aiqs opinion, Perfect Dark Zero is the best shooter on the 360 so far. Why? There is no auto-aim, host advantage is very rare, and it takes skill to kill 90% of the time.

(The other 10% is from Hawk Boomerang in Onslaught and Superdragon matches, which are grenade-fests)

My favorite would be Lost Planet, partly because it's the one I've played the most. And some what because my parents won't let me get M rated games...

Lost Planet was fun. Some of the bosses in single-player were a REAL pain though.

I like to play games of all ages.
From NES to what came out last week.
Though pretty much no console games before NES, and only a few computer games. (IE. Nethack)

I heard that the first starfox game was good and that they made a sequel but it was cancelled.
