According to the Diffusion Group, while 80 per cent of US households own game consoles capable of DVD playback, only 30 per cent were aware of that fact and only 13 per cent of gamers are using them for that purpose.

Looks like Nintendo's decision to drop DVD playback wasn't such a bad decision afer all.
Few console owners using multimedia capabilities, says study

If you have a console with DVD/Blu-Ray... do you use it?

The Wii doesn't have it. But since it doesn't have one, Nintendo can put more effort in other things Very Happy

I only used my Xbox's DVD playing abilities when I first got it. I never use it anymore.

I don't have a console with DVD. Well, I'd rather use my DVD player that I already have.

I don't currently have a console with such capabilities...
Even if I did, though, I wouldn't use it. I hardly ever watch movies, and when I do watch them via DVD, I just use my computer.

I only use my brother's modded Xbox to watch bootleg DVDs from the Philippines. For normal DVDs, I use the family room DVD player, mostly because that's where the largest TV in the house is.

Buh huh huh. I've only used my PS2's DVD capabilites a few times; usually when a real DVD player was unavailable.
