You are silly for believing that. For instance, what if you really were gay and have been offended by that. Its just as offensive as calling someone retarded even if they're not. I get offended by both of these because people act like being gay or retarded is a bad thing. I especially hate it when people call others retarded because one of my uncles suffers severe mental retardation and it feels terrible to hear people poke fun at others if they show the smallest amount of stupidity. It might not make any sense but just try to stop using those terms to insult people. |
At my school, people use "gay" and "retarded" as insults all the time, (and the N-word, too) so I'm just not bothered by it anymore. You can choose to not let those words bother you. |
Exactly. When people call someone retarded, they aren't saying they have down syndrome. It's just a general insult, and some getting offended by people using a term like that loosely is retarded petty. |

Something similar happened to a friend of mine. He was sitting on a bench at the bus stop with one leg on either side of it (it had no back, it was just like a stool), and some gangster-looking guy called him gay for it. He even had the nerve to say "don't sit like that in front of me, I don't even want to see people sitting like fags".
D8 lol the idiocy.
I wasn't any better though, when I left the bus terminal I asked the guy "am I walking correctly, or is this too gay for you?" (not that it mattered since I'm a girl, but it was still funny. He was actually speechless, so I feel like I kind of burned him hahaha.) |
