I helped set up a Red Cross Blood Drive at my school as part of NHS the other day... and I began thinking. Should I give blood or not?
Sure, I'm deathly afraid of needles. They are probably my worst fear... but given my family history, chances are I will need at least one surgery somewhere down the road. Given the fact that I have a bloodtype that can be used by all patients, it would help save someone's life...
So Digibutter, what are your opinions on giving blood? Plan on it? Never going to? Already have? |

The downside of that is that you can only recieve blood from the same blood type, which sucks.
M'aiq does not know what his blood type is, and he feels lightheaded enough on a daily basis WITHOUT missing half a pint of blood. |

I have a needle fear too. D:
I don't think it would be safe for me to give blood, though. I have some Mediterranean in me, and apparently I have this blood disorder that's common in the islands. It's not really dangerous usually, but I think it's bad if my blood comes in contact with anyone else's, or if I...erm, reproduce with someone with the same disorder. |

At least where I'm from, blood donation takes some requirements, and I am refused due to one of them.

I've never given blood, but my English teacher who has give for many years says it is only a medium pinch going in and nothing more.
Other than that, do as you see fit. |

I would LIKE to give blood, but I have no bleeping idea what my blood type is, and I'm already really anemic and weak anyway... so giving away enough blood to help another person would make me even more slow, wheezy, and nearly narcoleptic than I already am.
... yeah. The health requirements would probably bar me from giving blood. |

NO! NO NO NO NO! NEVER AGAIN AM I GIVING UP MY BLOOD! I've technically never donated it. My blood had to be taked before I was put on medication. I hate having sharp stuff in me. |
