It is just cruel, torturing animals so that we can gain knowledge. Knowledge that we are not meant to gain.

Why are we not meant to gain it, though? Humans are a species focused on gaining knowledge, one of its ultimate goals. Knowlege can only improve life. Why is it wrong to learn how to eliminate diseases that and deformities that have plagued us since the dawn of man?

I can easily tell that such modifications to animals are an attempt at playing God/creator, which is by far beyond the human limit.

I doubt that it is playing "God." There is a difference between experimentation for medical and life-improvement purposes and experimentation to gain power.

This is a warning. To everyone posting like this, elaborate on your posts, and give reasoning to what you believe. This is a serious thread for serious discussion, not for simplistic posts such as that. Such posts as that can be seen as spam in serious, deep discussion threads.

I don't think we've lost, even though the people of today’s society, aren’t probably going to stop this, and barely any action will be taken in this issue, by the public. There are some groups out there that will do many things, and may leave a small impact. The youth of America, our generation, might be able to do something about this. If we can gain big groups of supporters for this case, and the youth of America do something about this. Then maybe, just maybe, the older generation might pay attention to this matter, and when we become adults, we might be able to change this, and find an alternate method to this issue.

It's not all about America, my friend; it's a world-wide issue.

And the "power of youth" could be something strong, but it's not, by no means. Not strong enough to defeat the desire of a selfish corporation. "Power of youth" would work if it wasn't for the people that compose the bigger part of the youth nowadays: Spoiled, lazy, consumist... And all that jazz.
