Not the kind you're probably thinking of, M'aiq means regular playing cards for a tag. Similar to the dice, it would randomly generate a number from 2-10(or pick from the letters A(ace), J(jack), Q(queen), and K(king)) followed by a letter representing the suit it comes from, D,H,S,C.
The tag would be something like [c] or [card], and would display in the same way as dice.

This can still be done with random numbers if you decide which number represents which suit, but that's just plain annoying.

This could revive the old gambling fever of the site. Luigi's luck-based mini-games from SM64 DS could be revived, fun, and just enjoyable.

I'm not sure how useful random cards are if there is no deck.
I mean, all card games involve using a deck.. so if you draw a card, it is no longer in the deck. Keeping track of a deck of cards used throughout a topic is not a simple feature. |

There's a way to code "lists" in threads, right? M'aiq recalls this from BYOND memory...
-Have an invisible list in a thread.
-When [card] is used, it scans the result and scans the list for a match.
-If there is no match, the card is displayed, and added to the list.
-If there is a match between the result and the list, it is re-drawn, repeating the process.
M'aiq isn't sure how, or even if, it's possible, since BYOND != forum...
...but it WAS a nice suggestion. |
