I looked around at her strange surroundings. The most notable things I saw were the Pure Hearts. But next to them were gems that pulsed in the same mystical way that the Pure Hearts did.

When I turned, I saw that great icy bird that was in pursuit of Dimentio as well.

"Dimentio... Wait! Blumiere! He's still fighting Dimentio, but now I'm here." I remembered the words Dimentio had said before.

"... You both are destined to be apart... very much alone..."

"I can't lose you again, Blumiere!"

I ran to the bird and shook its leg, trying to catch its attention. At the moment, I forgot that most animals couldn't speak, but it was the only being here that I remembered seeing again. "Where am I and what happened to Dimentio and the man that was dueling with him?!"

[Super ShadowArticuno]

"Well, it's time we left. I'd say we should check the Mushroom Kingdom next. It's the closest place from here. Let's go!"

Articuno joined forces with Sonic and Shadow!

End of chapter 1: Mobius

Many things happened in the short time I had left Kanto. I met many people on the way. I had this feeling the Pure Hearts were telling me the next of them was hidden within the Mushroom Kingdom. Well, at least it will be easier with Sonic and Shadow by my side. Here we go!

What would happen to Timpani and Bleck, still in Mobius? Well, all will be revealed in...

Chapter 2: Off to The Mushroom Kingdom"

it was horrible. Fissures were open in the ground. Mountains had sprung up. It looked post-apocalyptic, almost.

"What has happened here?"

[Celeste Dimentia]

"Hard to say... but it can't be anything good. Is this a natural part of the merge, or the work of... something else?" Shadow was lost in thought as usual.

"Well, no use standing around!" Sonic was tapping his feet, looking eager for some action. "We'll just have to do some investigating! But where to first...? I can't say I'm familiar with this place... at all."

[Super ShadowArticuno]

"I have no idea what is going on here. We should ask someone around here, maybe we should ask someone."

I flew up to a local... Or so I thought. It was a boy in a green cap, wearing a sword, and looked as confused as we were.

"Excuse me, do you know if this is the Mushroom Kindom?"

"I dunno, I was just walking around Hyrule, I saw a flash, and here I am."

"Okay... Well, we have to go, see ya. I'm Articuno, by the way, these fellows are Sonic and Shadow."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Link. Maybe we will see each other soon."

"Yeah, farewell." We would be meeting up with Link again sooner than I could imagine. We decided we'd just press on forward, to see what would happen.

[Francine]

The others left, along with the bird. I was left alone here in burning Mobius. They seemed to have taken the Pure Hearts and the gems.

"What is going on!?" I yelled out in frustration. Since I was still in the same place, I decided to look for Blumiere. Taking some water to put out any fire in the way, I walked into the forest.

Even when I was outside the door, it was evident that this was going to be much harder without a barrier. Taking a deep breath, I went to go find Blumiere.

By the time I reached the clearing where the fight against Dimentio took place, I was out of water and had several burns on my body. It seemed that whatever that light was before made Dimentio leave and Blumiere unconcious.

His magic walls faded and the flames approached his knocked-out form. I ran to him, trying to wake him up.

"Blumiere, you have to wake up. The fire's getting closer." It was painful to kneel on my burned knees, but still I held him close.

No matter how much I shook him, he did not rouse from his sleep. Getting desperate, I took a burning stick, blew out the flame, took off one of his gloves, and touched the hot tip to the palm of his hand.

"Ow!" He sat up with a start, and I hugged him tightly.

"Timpani, what happened?"

"I'm not so sure about it myself, but we have to get out of here. People with Pure Hearts and I think they're called Chaos Emeralds are heading towards where Mario comes from."

He nodded, and floated us out of burning Mobius. I kept looking for the light blue wing of Articuno.

Articuno? How do I know your name?

[Celeste Dimentia]

"Be on your guard!" said Shadow roughly, his fists clenched.

"We are!' said Sonic, looking a little annoyed. "If anything comes, we'll be ready for it-"

No sooner had Sonic said this, however, when a massive koopa came lumbering into view, swirling glasses pressed upon his flabby face.

"Hey hey HEY! Name's Kent C. Koopa. And if you wanna pass, you'll fork over 100 coins, like... now."

"Who is this clown?" said Shadow, looking skeptical.

[Tails Doll]

Abigor came over not suddenly over to the heroes becuase I felt like it.

"That's the special ed school bully, my friend."

Abigor walked over, with his scythe in arms. He heard of tales of this strong being, but this was the first to see him, in the scarred rock of the Mushroom Kingdom. He had a glance at Kent.C's glass covered eyes, though they looked menacing.

"I'll handle this."

I began to target the Koopa as Abigor unknowingly served as a distraction. I launched a powerful Sheer Cold at him, hoping he would he stopped in his tracks.

Abigor? There's another name I know yet don't know.

[Francine]

"There!" I pointed to the group by the nerdy-looking Koopa. "Hmm, that Koopa's glasses remind me of Francis. Ugh, I hated that cage." We landed by the group consisting of a pair of two-legged hedgehogs, Abigor, and Articuno. The massize red-shelled Koopa seemed to be blocking their path.

[Celeste Dimentia]

The Koopa staggered back slightly. "What was that? An attack?"

"His defense is strong..." muttered Sonic.

"Stand back, I can handle this!" Shadow zoomed forward, cutting right across Kent C. Koopa, who suddenly keeled over in pain.

"HEY! You wanna play that way, then? Fine." The massive koopa retreated into its shell, and began spinning very fast. "Try this!" it exclaimed, zooming towards Sonic, Articuno, Abigor, Timpani, and Blumiere at top speed.

[Francine]

Just before Kent C. Koopa collided with everyone, Blumiere and I landed. He put up another magic shield which the Koopa bounced off of like a pinball. Kent recovered very quickly and ground his teeth. He seemed to prepare for another attack.

[Tails Doll]

Abigor did a leap over the Koopa, but his feet smacked the large beings shell and the sheer size of the creature made him lose proper landing and fall down, flat on his face. Abigor got up, quite a bit more angry this time.

I was ready. I launched a full powered Sheer Cold as Knet rushed towards us. He fell over, not lifeless, but frozen.

[Francine]

"How long will he be frozen?" I asked. Immediately, I got my answer. A sound like cracking glass came from behind me, and Kent escaped from his icy encasing.

[Celeste Dimentia]

"All I wanted was 100 coins... but if you're going to give me nothing, then I'll give you a beating!" The koopa jumped up and slammed down onto the ground, still in his shell, and the whole ground tremored violently.

Shadow leapt upward, landing on top of the shell and holding it in place with a dark field of energy. "Sonic, hurry up already!"

Sonic curled up into a spiky blue ball, as Kent C. Koopa's shell began to crack under the strain of Shadow's power. Sonic slammed into it soon after, shattering the shell completely and sending Kent rocketing backwards.

"JEEZ!" The koopa lumbered forward again, cracking his knuckles. "Guess it's time to give you the old one-two!" He aimed a heavy punch at Sonic, who was knocked flat to the ground, then veered over towards the others, pulling his fist back again and delivering a sweeping punch in their direction.
