Shadow stepped past the very confused Waddle Dee, arms folded.

"He must have been in a right state to do so... unless this is yet another part of his overall scheme. It's hard to tell by now..."

I sighed at his impatience and snatched the hat from the top of the bush. Bending down, I pulled it sharply over his eyes.

Count Bleck grunted and tipped his hat up and above his eyes.

"Well, Count Bleck may as well start at the beginning.

"After Count Bleck had stayed in the castle for a while, I noticed that Dimentio was beginning to become slightly agitated for whatever reason. He'd pace the hall and mutter to himself, and kept going through a certain wall. Count Bleck found it slightly unnerving, so I decided to go check it out.

"Dimentio had apparently either made or found a hidden room in the castle. He wasn't in there when Count Bleck first went into the wall. A lot of strange things were there--notably something that looked like a giant chessboard. When Count Bleck tried to walk up to it, I found myself suddenly near the window on the complete other side of the room. And the next thing Count Bleck knew, I was falling.

"Count Bleck landed here in the middle of this place. I struggled my way through the forest, trying to find any real sign of civilization.

"And," Count Bleck finished, "then I found all of you, says Count Bleck."

"It's a long story...But Dimentio plans to rid of many-a-world for unknown reasons. Are you with us to stop his evil scheme?"

The virus suddenly stood up, the mechanical joints of the Metool stiffening. Dimentio...that name had just triggered a strange reaction in its programming. Why would that be? Whatever the case, it now found itself, somewhat unwillingly, walking out into the open.

"Ugh, agreed," said Count Bleck. "Count Bleck is sick of him."

Nastasia let out a breath of relief, and ran over to hug Count Bleck. "You are back..."

Count Bleck looked over, shocked, at the thing appearing from the bushes.

The virus observed the group's reactions, then finally spoke, utilizing the Metool's sound-emitters, normally only used for alarms, to communicate. "Kingvirus.exe v.1.3.8 at your service. Current body: Metool. Refer to me as Virus. Willing to assist you in whatever your goal may be. Requesting additional information on name 'Dimentio'." Virus looked at all of them expectantly.
