I was getting quite annoyed. I decided to track down this Dimentio chap.

There was a small portal hanging in midair where he had vanished...

"Odd, just like the one that brought me here"

I put the Pure Heart into my bag and flew through in hot pursuit.

The air shimmered and bent, as though under great strain.

Merlon looked on with shock as Dimentio snapped his fingers, and Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Princess Peach were blasted into nothing, all at once.

"Ah ha ha... ciao!"

Present - Mobius

Dimentio appeared in a flash of light.

"Ahh... yes, I thought it must be so. It looks as though I'll have to lighten this place up!" he said, and with another snap of the fingers, the lush, green world became consumed in flames all around him. Animals crumpled up, reduced to cinders, as Dimentio laughed all the while.

[Francine]

When I saw the great bird take the stone Pure Heart out of its bag, I knew we had to follow it.

"C'mon!" I said to Blumiere, and we followed the raptor into the diminishing portal.

The world was engulfed in flames. Quickly, Blumiere created a barrier around us to protect us from the flames. Running through the narrow lanes that had no burning debris, I saw Dimentio setting fire to more of the world.

"Dimentio!" I yelled out.

[Celeste Dimentia]

Dimentio turned, his masked face showing no change of expression.

"So you, too, wish to meet your end at the hands of Dimentio... so be it!" he said, as the flames intensified, and continued to spread further across Mobius.

[Francine]

"We've beaten you once, and we can do it again!" Blumiere said over the roar of the fire. He did not seem to be under the influence of the Chaos Heart at this time, so he could be defeated here.

Abigors mind was filled with images of trauma, of a burning, semi-familiar world dying in shambles. This was too intense. He had these commonly, Dimentio was right, the world that wasn't his was too full of war and hatred. Earth was a fine example. Earth wasn't a burning crippled world. Abigor felt he should stay there. So Abigor warped there to the busy streets. Earth wasn't that bad, the tall sleek towers covered in large amounts of flora of New York shined from the sun, and America was powerful enough to be a protector of the Galaxy. It was safe feeling, and no disaster could take down the powerful and technology. ((Earth is in the Semi Future here, 2015 to 2020, and it is a galactic city, thus, no humans are gawking at Abigor.))

"Perhaps... but you are both destined to be apart... very much alone. I shall make it so!" said Dimentio, the fire blazing behind him. "I have misled the others... ah ha ha... indeed, I left behind a portal. They'll be most unpleasantly surprised, I think, when they find what's on the other side."

Dimentio floated forward, still hovering above the blackened ground. Raising both hands into the air, Dimentio summoned a golden barrier around Timpani, then turned to face Blumiere.

"Come, then... if you wish to defeat me... free yourself from the bonds of love... use your old power once more! The darkness will set you free..."

[Francine]

Blumiere turned around and looked at me, worried.

"I'm fine in here. You have to defeat him! Don't give in, Blumiere. You can fight him without the darkness. If you succumb, he'll only win," I said to him.

His expression changed to confidence, and he nodded at me. He whispered, "I love you, Timpani. I'll fight and win against this clown." Turning around to face Dimentio, Blumiere created a large transparent wall to create a fighting arena. No fire raged within the walls. He crouched in a ready position and made orbs of magic appear in his hands.

"Dimentio, prepare yourself!"

[Celeste Dimentia]

"I am always prepared... for some magic!" exclaimed Dimentio, and on his fingertip, a shimmering ball of energy appeared in a blaze of light. "The question is... are you?" He pointed forward, and the ball of energy soared towards Count Bleck at top speed.

[Francine]

Blumiere guarded from the attack, creating an energy shield with one of the orbs in his hands. The shield reflected the blast back at Dimentio, but it missed him by inches. He replenished the orb in his hand, and fused it with the other, creating a giant ball of magic. Blumiere launched it towards Dimentio, the orb heading straight towards his bi-colored mask.

[Celeste Dimentia]

Just as he had done with the watery projectile back at Bob-Omb field, Dimentio snapped his fingers, creating a square, shimmering barrier of golden light that enveloped the enormous ball of energy. The interior of the barrier exploded in a flash of fire, obliterating the attack. As the barrier faded, Dimentio flew forward, and suddenly split into three.

"Ah ha ha... this show has only just begun." ♪

Each of the three Dimentio forms charged a ball of glowing energy on their fingertips, just as the lone Dimentio had done not long before, and let them loose, soaring towards Blumiere from different directions.

[Francine]

As the blasts homed in on him, Blumiere rolled out of their paths. To attack all three magicians he multiplied the amount of orbs in his hands and sent them out all around him.

"I can take anything you throw at me!" Blumiere again conjured up another batch of magical shots and sent out a set of energy balls. Wave after wave of attacks were fired from his hands.

All of the apparations floated away quickly, dodging the first set of attacks. The second wave, however, went right through one of the phantoms, and it dissipated into silver mist. The remaining two flew overhead, their masks grinning eerily.

"Take your time, my cloaked friend... as we battle, all of Mobius shall be laid to waste!" The twin apparitions spoke together, both charging up massive orbs of energy as they spoke. They released their attacks, and each of the orbs split apart into three seperate balls of shimmering light as they branched off towards Blumiere.

[Francine]

"The fire!" It seemed that in the heat of the battle, both Blumiere and I forgot about the burning fields and forests that surrounded us. I could do nothing in my golden prison. Blumiere could have taken down the battle walls, but he didn't want to leave me alone with Dimentio.

Blumiere held up another magic shield and walked backwards towards me.

"I think I can create a hole in your barrier." Dimentio's shots shook him as they collided with his block. "It will only be for a short period of time, and I won't be able to reach you with the way Dimentio put it up. You have to save Mobius from the fire."

"I can't put it out; I have no magic," I said. "Look out!" Another set of magic attacks came flying towards Blumiere, but he put up his shield just in time.

"Go Timpani!"

"What about you?"

"I can hold him off, though he's stronger than I thought. All this time I thought he got most of his power from the Chaos Heart, but he's strong alone."

"Be safe, and I love you."

Two more shots came, two more shots blocked. "As do I." He opened an opening just big enough for me to crawl through, and told me to go.

Just as I finished exiting my golden cage, Blumiere's magic wavered and the hole closed. I was too far to hear him now, but he seemed to mouth, "I'll be fine."

He cast a final barrier spell on me, and I ran into the burning forest. I looked back just before I lost sight of the battlefield, watching Blumiere fend off Dimentio.

Both of Dimentio's phantom forms were keeping up a relentless barrage of attacks, but Blumiere blocked each and every one of them.

"You cannot escape... and it does not end here! This world - and the power that sleeps within - shall vanish, riding the wind as mere ash for all eternity!" He laughed, and fired off another stream of attacks.

"Wait... what's going on...?" Dimentio muttered to himself suddenly, and he ceased his attacks. And then an entirely different voice spoke, as if out of nowhere.

"Chaos... Control!"

There was a bright flash of what looked like lightning, and Dimentio - all of him - quite suddenly vanished.
