As the group moved through the forest, two splotches of blood red followed them, watching them. No one noticed, of course, for whenever one would turn a head, the eyes would disapear into the shadows....and reapear once the group had moved on.

The purple one. The bird. He radiates a dark aura. Could he...? No. It is not possible. Surely he could not be...anyway. the one in a tunic, nothing from him other than the sword...we must watch out for that one, yes... the hedgehog. a threat, but a great ally if he were to be turned....but unlikely. a large will, he carries...The large creature, almost a replica of death himself...but no threat coming from this one.

The eyes continued to search the party, noting virus, all the creatures, and especialy the guide. The guide has no will. simple to turn. possible.

and the eyes disapeared into the shadows once again...

"... Does anyone else have the feeling we're being watched?" Link gripped the Master Sword tighter as the group advanced through the dark woods.

The virus walked along with them, analyzing the new data that the name Dimentio had unlocked. There were two pieces of data. One was an image file...it showed a strange, grinning jester, floating in midair. The virus assumed this to be Dimentio.

The other, however, was a text document, and the virus could not figure out what its purpose was. It silently reread it:

It happened again, today. I don't see why he doesn't just give it up...that's the eight time, now. Can't he realize that he has no chance of doing it? He's a genius, yes - even I admit that - but he simply doesn't think these things through.

Either way, I've begun work on Project X. I'm using MM as a basis for the project.

The document abruptly stopped there, but further analysis revealed that there was more to the file. Apparently, more keywords were needed to unlock the rest...

"I have the slightest feeling you can't stop looking at me, thinking I'm going to suddenly eat your soul."

Abigor just wasn't aware of what truly was going on...Though he felt the need to turn back...

[Fancy Wario]

"If need be, I can check to make sure that we're alone. Begin bioscan," the virus said.

[The Quiet.]

A cold, hard voice suddenly filled Abigor's head...

"This sythe you carry...is it an embodiment of power? do you carry something old and rotting in your hands? For of course, you are not Death...but you mock him."

[Celeste Dimentia]

Shadow shook his head, impatient as ever.

"It's good to see you again, Articuno... or should I call you Shadow Articuno? The name seems much more fitting. And I do sense that we are being watched, so remain on your guard, as always. Darkness always leaves a signature, an imprint upon the worlds..."

"Are you coming or what, POYAH?" Waddle Dee's voice floated back to them from the distance.

"Bioscan complete. We're alone," the virus concluded. If it was capable of emotion, it would be somewhat relieved. Of course, it was wrong...

[The Quiet.]

"Do not ignore me, Abigor...for i know your name. you carry a taint, this weapon of yours, and the sooner you drop it, the sooner you are...safe..."

Abigor stood dead still, and he dropped his scythe to the ground.

He groaned. He has never heard anything before from insanity, and he knew this wasn't it.

He telepathically spoke back, to whatever that was.

"I'm not going to answer you, that is forever a question to even who have gained my trust."

((This isn't real time, okay? Delays don't mean anything.))

[The Quiet.]

The black from the trees replied, only this time the whole party was addressed, from every angle around them...

"Ahh, so you hide your fear...fear is a great weapon, but only if you alone carry it against your enemy...And so, fear it shall be..."

Blobs of purple shadow appeared from all angles, and from them sprouted large, black hands.

"let us test your power now..."

and so the black appeared beneath Abagor's Sythe, and sucked it into the ground.

"Whoa! What's going on?" I was surprised. "Virus said we were alone... but..."

"... We're in grave danger..." Absol finished my sentence.

"It seems to be a dark creature... TAKE THIS!" Link slashed at the dark blob's hands with the Sword of evil's bane.
