As I said before, I'll support whoever supports me (and you're only allowed to support one). NOTE: I may or may not be supporting the other person in secret. Because if the one I'm supporting loses, that would suck.

Count (space) Bleck has the magic of proper grammar and spelling. He gets my vote, the vote of the in-game girlfriend.

Okay, some of us have seen this before. Either make up now, or have the whole question deal again. Just get it over with.

Sounds like an idea. Might as well give it a shot, hmmm?

Ah ha ha... I can hardly stand the wait.

That, and I want to see one of them change their name to Nastasia. Razz

Actually, there's a Nastasia already, so it has to be something like: Secretary Nastasia. OK! I'll PM them the questions soon.

Routing (or routeing) is the process of selecting paths in a network along which to send data or physical traffic.

Routing directs forwarding, the passing of logically addressed packets from their source toward their ultimate destination through intermediary nodes; typically hardware devices called routers, bridges, gateways, firewalls, or switches. Ordinary computers with multiple network cards can also forward packets and perform routing, though with more limited functionality and performance. The routing process usually directs forwarding on the basis of routing tables which maintain a record of the routes to various network destinations. Thus constructing routing tables, which are held in the routers' memory, becomes very important for efficient routing.

Routing, in a more narrow sense of the term, is often contrasted with bridging in its assumption that network addresses are structured and that similar addresses imply proximity within the network. Because structured addresses allow a single routing table entry to represent the route to a group of devices, structured addressing (routing, in the narrow sense) outperforms unstructured addressing (bridging) in large networks, and has become the dominant form of addressing on the Internet, though bridging is still widely used, albeit within localized environments.

Packet-switched networks, such as the Internet, split data up into packets, each labeled with the complete destination address and each routed individually. Circuit switched networks, such as the voice telephone network, also perform routing, in order to find paths for circuits (such as telephone calls) over which they can send large amounts of data without continually repeating the complete destination address.

Traditional IP routing stays relatively simple because it uses next-hop routing where the router only needs to consider where it sends the packet, and does not need to consider the subsequent path of the packet on the remaining hops. However, more complex routing strategies can be, and are, often used in systems such as MPLS, ATM or Frame Relay, which are sometimes used as underlying technologies to support IP networks.

Now that's not rooting for someone.
